Roberta E. Anderson

MRS. Roberta Evans Anderson was born on August 12, 1944, to the late Robert Evans, Sr. and late Elizabeth Holmes Evans. She attended school in the South Carolina School starting a new life in Baltimore, Maryland. It was then that she met and married Howard James Anderson on March 29, 1964. Four years later, she gave birth to her only daughter, Regina Reine Anderson Evans. She was a wise woman who knew how to save, invest and give her talents and resources to help others. She and her husband traveled the country and worked hard. They have been committed to loving each other through various challenges in life. She was a good mother and wife who would cook for her family especially her famous carrot cake. She loved o garden, and she had a passion to help others in need. She was a godly woman who trusted the Lord Jesus, despite her circumstances and she lived her life as a Christian example for others. She lived by Matthew 5:16, Let you light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. She was a beautiful woman who presented herself with grace and class. Roberta was a strong and courageous woman who stood up for herself, taking the time to educate herself about various things and attending college courses to continually improve upon herself and her knowledge. She worked at AT&T for over 20 years and made history in 1998 when she along with several of her colleagues went up against AT&T (currently worth over $200 Billion) in a landmark Supreme Court of the U.S. case and won when AT&T appealed the ruling granting her and several of her colleagues, lifetime benefits. She was someone, who understood her rights and was willing to fight for them! During her tenure with AT&T she eventually moved to Reynoldsburg, OH where she and her husband became members of Refuge Baptist Church. There she served as a Deaconess, Nurses Unit member,served on the sick and shut-in ministry, pastors aide ministry and various other areas as the lord led her. She and her husband ( Deacon Howard Anderson) love the Lord Jesus Christ and have been faithful in helping in whatever capacity the Lord enabled them to do. In 1992, she witnessed the wedding of their daughter, Regina Reine Anderson, to Elder Anthony C. Evans. Out of that union, she had two grandchildren: Josiah Malachi Evans and Sara Elisabeth Evans. She was a grandmother who liked to travel and spend quality time with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she was very proud of them! In 2007, Howard and Roberta decided to move back to Maryland and settled in Easton, Maryland. They continued to serve the Lord and attended St. John's Christian Community Church faithfully until her health started to wane. Even, in her condition it was not unusual to look across the church and see her raising her hand in praise unto our Lord Jesus! She did not allow her health challenges to get in the way of living her life. If she wanted to the beach, her husband would take her to the beach. If she wanted to go shopping, he would take her shopping. Roberta was a wonderful person who sowed in the lives a full life and created some beautiful memories for her husband, family, and friends. She will truly be missed! She leaves behind to cherish her memory: Her Husband of 53 years Deacon Howard J. Anderson; daughter, Evangelist Regina Evans; son-in-law, Elder Anthony Evans; grandchildren, Josiah M. Evans, Sara E. Evans and Rebekah Elisabeth Evans (deceased); Sisters: Esther Artis, Ora Bell Murphy, Fendell Brazzle (Irlie), Arlene Evans and Barbara Evans (deceased); Brothers: Emmanuel Evans, Johnnie Evans, Milton Evans (Mary), Robert Evans, Jr. (deceased), Wade Evans (deceased) and Joseph Lowery, Sr. (deceased); In-laws: Mark (Nancy), John, Oliver, Robert (Pat), Guy, Leila, Dorene (William), Wanda, Bernadette (JR. Evans), Denise, Judy, and Frank (deceased); Aunt, Virginia Evans and a Hosts of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
