Robert W. Wright

Robert Walter Wright was born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 14, 1930 to the late Robert Wright and the late Lillian Hall Wright. He was the eldest son of eight siblings. After a long illness, Robert departed this life on February 4, 2018, ten days prior to his 88th birthday! Robert lived his entire life in Baltimore, Maryland. His journey took him to quite a few different locations. Robert journey began on Myrtle Avenue where he was born. Robert subsequently lived on the following streets Shields Place, Franklin Street, Saratoga Street, yes a trip back to Myrtle Avenue, Gilbert Street, Appleton Street, Riggs Avenue, Brantley Avenue, and Harlem Avenue. Although Robert lived in numerous locations he never moved too far from his starting point. All of the locations were within a ten mile radius of Myrtle Avenue. Robert wasn't afraid of work. He held down numerous positions before finally retiring Robert spent 17 years employed at Cat's Paw Rubber Company, 14 years at Baltimore Copper Paint Company, four years at Page Paper Bo Company, and finally 6 years employed at Supreme Aluminum Products. Robert's vast work experiences helped him live up to his self-proclaimed title "Mr. Handyman". Robert spent a lot of time after his retirement fixing things throughout the neighborhood. Robert served as his landlord's Mr. Fix it. Robert was looked up to by everyone in the neighborhood. They sought out his advice on every subject imaginable. He always had some type of wisdom to share with them. They all looked out for him and if they didn't see him for a couple of days, they would stop by his apartment to see if he was alright. They ran errands, took walks with him and even brought him meals. Robert loved music. He spent a lot of time listening and relaxing to music. He enjoyed entertaining whoever came by to visit him. He had a special love for Aretha Franklin and probably had every album/cd she made. Robert's greatest love was working on cars. Robert never hesitated to take on a challenge as he felt he could fix anything on a car. Robert was always seen thinking with his car even if it was running fine. Robert was dearly hurt when his car was towed or stolen. Robert leaves to cherish his life Children: Allen (Deborah), Edna, Cheryl and Keith Wright, Brother: Allen Richardson, Sisters: Cornelia Calhoun and Elaine Richardson, Grand kids, great-grand kids, aunts, and uncles, nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
