On September 28th, in the year of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ, 2010, ROBERT WILLIAMS, SR., held out his hand to embrace his lord for the last time. He had enjoyed the fullness of a physical life and celebrated a union of a devoted wife. Robert's bright smile and jokes, he'd shared with the best. A laugh coming from the pit of his soul, could touch your heart and you'll lose control. A gentle an quiet man keeping his concerns within, Robert was and could be a true friend. Skating on a roller ring, and Friday night fish fries with the family was really his thing. A real father and husband as he was known to the world. A jewel to his family, he was really a pearl. But he never forgot to tell us all about the love of his God, a scripture in hand could be pulled out in mid air. Sometimes we'd forget, but Robert never missed his pryers. Robert was born to proud parents, Slater and Nonnie Williams, on September 7, 1937. Growing up in Baltimore City, Robert learned early in life should be taken seriously and never for granted, armed himself with the pride and determination to successfully completed the task of living. Understanding the advantage of education, he did attend the Baltimore City Education System, achieving great honor. In his youth Robert's adventurous nature opened the doors of the United States Navy to him, where he did travel taking advantage of this opportunity, he saw much of the world. A man devoted to the success of his family, Robert worked long hours without fail or regret, until his retirement. It was the knowledge and reality gained through life experiences, that gave Robert genuine courage guiding his family to a safe harbor. It will be hard to say Good-Bye to such a man, as Robert has been. A devoted father, husband and friend. But it was the will of God in the end. We should take comfort in knowing, there was no better man, taking a stronger stand in his devotion to OUR LORD, And though he'll be missed, imagine his bliss as he walked God's open door and felt heaven. All the days and night praying to his Lord above, now he is surrounded by His love. Robert is survived by his attentive and dedicated wife, Lena Williams; two proud son, Robert Williams, Jr. and Erick Williams; three caring daughters, Sheila, Gloria (Anne) and his youngest, Terry; two sister, Naomi Ford and Minnie Williams; One brother in-law, Arnold Ford. To Robert's credit there are eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and any array of nieces and nephews, will miss and honor this man that touched the hand of God. And an the quiet of our hearts we will remember his prayer to God above, that we would all be blessed and unharmed. And we all thank you, Robert Williams for giving us your best and thanks be to God he's given you rest.
