ROBERT MORRIS GOLIGHTLY, SR was a great man affectionately known “CUZ”. He was the beloved son of the late Mr. Norman and Elizabeth Covington. Robert was born on March 9, 1941, in Raleigh, North Carolina. His parents moved to Baltimore, MD (Turner Station), where “CUZ” grew up He had a quiet and loving spirit. Robert was a highly respected and was kind to all who knew him. He was always prompt, keeping appointments, as well as his word Robert was a faithful friend to many. He was akind and loving brother to his siblings. Opting to explore and increase his knowledge of the world, Robert joined the United States Army. H was able to explore and embrace new adventures. His leadership qualities were remarkable. During his time in the Army, he served three tours in Vietnam, and several tours in Germany, Wow! What a brave Soldier. After retiring from the military, Robert continued to serve his country working for the Federal Government for a combined total of thirty six years. Robert loved to watch sports and old westerns. He never complained about his illness He would just smile and say that it was God's work, He gave each of us something to think about as we continue this journey for however short or long. God gave Robert hope, love, and comfort. A humble child of God, Robert loved the loved. He enjoyed attending church and was a faithful member until his passing. Robert loved his family. He was blessed with fantastic, virtuous loving wife, Linda for twenty-five years. They had many happy and wonderful years together. Linda said, “My husband was GOOOOD to Me.” Linda provided exceptional care to his every need during his illness. After a lengthy illness, Robert departed this life for a better life on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Preceding Robert in death are Alexander, Dorothy, Mattie, Cynthia and his brother, Michael. Robert wants the family to celebrate his home going, and continue to be kind and loving one to another. He leaves to cherish his life; his beautiful wife, Linda; four handsome sons, Robert Jr. (Shirley), Robert III, Mark (Christine), and Thomas; five beautiful daughters, Renee, Tammy, Dorese, Doreen, and Tamara (DeSean); three lovely sisters, Carolyn (Earl), Jannie (James), and Norma; twenty grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; a loving and caring mother-in-law, Ms Lestina Boyer; dedicated god-sister, Valerie Newmuis; two brothers-in-law, Stephen and Harry (Elizabeth); three sisters-in-law, Althea, Sheila, and Valerie,' and a host of other family and friends. , w
