Robert George Wilson

Robert George Wilson, affectionately known as Jeff, was born on October 2, 1943. He was the eldest son of Carrie Adger and Robert Wilson, Sr. He departed this life peacefully at 1:30 a.m., October 4, 2001. His loving companion Belinda Chapman and his devoted brother Bob were at his side.As a youth, Jeff was a member of Strangers Friends Baptist Church. There he and his sister and brothers sang as a family quartet. Born and raised in Baltimore, Jeff was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools. He was a graduate of Carver Vocational Technical High School. Upon his graduation in 1961, Jeff entered and served in the United States Army Signal Corps. He served proudly and honorably for two tours of duty during the Vietnam conflict.Returning to Baltimore, Jeff was employed by the Four Roses Distillery Company. He later obtained a position as a bus driver with the Maryland State Transit Authority. After twenty-seven years, Jeff retired in February, 2001. His daily contact and interplay with the public gave him much joy ad satisfaction. Jeff was married and divorced twice. He had no children.Among Jeff's interests were reading and debating community and world issues. He was also an avid sports fan, especially football and baseball. When he, his sister, his brother and his brother-in-law were not viewing a game together, they would surley discuss the latest play via telephone with excited enthusium.Always a vibrant and sociable person, his smile would light up a room. Jeff enjoyd entertaining his family, their families and his friends. Family togetherness was meaningful and important to Jeff. He had a flair for dressing and could "cut a rug."Jeff remained spiritual and maintained his faith in God.He leaves to cherish his memory: sister, Carrie Spain; brother, Robert Wilson, Jr.; uncle, Lonnie Wilson; aunt, Janie Bennet; sister-in-law, Patricia Wilson; brother-in-law, Rufus Spain; nieces, Jeanette Spain, Rasheeda Wilson and Rachel Wilson; nephews, Anthony Wilson, Bobby Wilson, Kevin Spain and Patrick Wilson; six great-nephews, a great-niece, and a host of cousins and friends.The Wilson family would like to thank Belinda for her unswerving love, care and loyalty to Jeff during his illness.
