Rita L. Johnson

Rita Johnson, daughter of the late James Johnson and Mildred Johnson was born on May 30,1954 in Baltimore, Maryland. On Thursday, august 5, 2010, at Northwest Hospice Rita quietly found everlasting peace and rest in God's Loving Arms. Rita was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools. Rita was an energetic women who loved to work. She began her career as a Food Service Technician at Baltimore City Jail for seven years. She continued to use her talents at Baltimore County Jail as a food Service Technician for 3 years. Rita later became employed as a Deli Operator at he Baltimore County Court House for three years. She also was employed by Baltimore City Public School in the Food Service Department. During the 70'st Rita met and fell in love with Robert Saunders. This longtime relationships ended as good friends but the results were two lovely Children; Tonya and Robert Jr. Rita later met, fell in love and married James Beaufort and from this union two lovely children were born; Kimnetta and Charles. Rita's interest varied, she loved working but her real enjoyment in life was taking care of her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She loved preparing and cooking big dinners on Sundays but her favorite time was the holidays. The greatest joy that always brought laughter an smiles wads family gatherings. Rita loved her family and she love having everyone together having a good time. Rita knew there was a void in her life and filled that void by joining Mt. Caramel Baptist in East Baltimore. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Personal Savior and was baptized. She understood the significance of having Jesus Christ in her life. Her Spiritual Journey was in God's hands from the beginning of life to the very end. Rita's closest and best friends who kept her laughing, having a good time and joking were Barbara Lawson and Miss Marion. Rita was lovingly known as “Grand-Mom” She was strong, independent, trustworthy and a comical outgoing lady. She will always be remembered and terribly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a true and kind friend. Rita leaves to cherish hey memory, her husband, James Beaufort; her children , Robin and Robert Saunders Jr., Kimnetta, and Charles Beaufort; four sister, Mary Conway, Mildred Conway, Rosalind Thomas, Jacqueline Conway; one brother , Richard Conway; thirteen grand children, Shirell, Tierra, Robert, Jamal, Nia, Ashley, Ikea, Lakia, Charlee, Raymond, Charles, Ray, KaSia; two great- grandchildren, Darrell and McKenza; ten nieces, seven nephews, eighteen great nephews, nine great nieces, two Uncles, Raymond and Eugene Ballard; two aunts, Betty and Gloria Ballard; father-in- law, James Beaufort Sr. , Four Brother- in laws, David, Joseph, Kim, Junior; five Sisters-in laws, Vye, Betty, Alice, Lina, Zina; one Daughter-in- law, Sadiaah Beaufort and a host of relatives and friends
