Rita Good

Rita Inita Good, daughter of the late Horace and Carrie Wright, was born on October 10, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. Rita received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System . She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was employed for many years as a chef for local restaurants in Baltimore City. An excellent cook in the kitchen at home and work.... The aroma of a down home soul food meal was always resonating.. “mmmm” good cooking. Rita was blessed with one loving son whom she adored and nurtured with unconditional love, a firm foundation, guidance and wisdom. He has always been his Mom's pride and joy. The two were source of support, encouragement and comfort to each other . They shared conversations on a daily to check on each other. She would always rave on how he made her laugh.... made her proud....cheered her up ….kept her strong and at times driven crazy... She often shared with him I am your first love from birth. I am your the first girl you hugged. I am the first girl you made laugh. I am the first girl you made cry. I am the first girl you tried to impress. I am the first girl you called pretty. “I am your “MOTHER”. No matter where you go in this life – how far you fly away from me -- nothing will change that I was your first love Walter! As you can see there is nothing like the “'mother-son relationship .” He was the purpose of her life and a definition of a son in every sense. She always knew how much he cared by the mere relationship they shared. A mother 's love will never end. There was an inseparable bond between the two of them of them as well as her two grandsons that connects them together all as priceless treasure. They will always have a piece of her heart...and a friend forever. In 1972 Rita Wright was united in holy matrimony to the late DeWitte Good. After the marriage to the love of her life he vowed he would be the support for his family. She then became homemaker for her family. “To Know Her Was to Love Her and if you didn't know she would tell you”....She was affectionately know as “Aunt Rita to many or Ms. Rita”. She was one with an infectious smile, a natural gift of gab and an engaging conversationalist. She made numerous friends wherever she went. Rita could-and-would talk to anyone. She enjoyed the company of many friends in her neighborhood. Although, the third child of her sibling she truly was the Matriarch to the family. During family gatherings she was known for for her humor and quick wit. She was always making everyone laugh. She enjoyed reminiscing with her nephew Eric Russell reflecting on many family stories of the past. “Once they got started it was all over”. She loved being with her family and friends-- as it was her very being. She was one would open her home to many that was in need whether it was family or friends....she was just that type of person. Rita as well as her sibling were a no tolerance family to disrespect. If there was any inkling of disrespect you suffered the raft of Ms. Rita and family. She was very outspoken and would always tell the truth whether you agreed or not. She was the “Boss”..no if and about it. She was fond of celebrating the holidays where she would “DELEGATE” bake, cook and be surrounded by family and friends. She had a compassionate heart as she was always thinking about others. She also enjoyed listening to music, watching her favorite shows of yesterday and had a great sense of humor. On Wednesday, June 10, 2015 she suddenly departed this life and God, in His infinite wisdom dispatched an angel and closed the “Book of Life on Rita Inita Good” to depart from her earthly body to be present with her Heavenly Father. Rita peacefully bid us farewell and the angels took her up in the wind, and escorted her safely home where our Heavenly Father welcomed her with open arms. Rita has transitioned from labor to reward. She leaves to cherish her memories one loving son, Walter L. Wright, Sr.; two grandsons, Walter L. Wright, Jr. and Ryan L. Wright; four great-grand-daughters (Asia, Rayne, McKayla and Jade Wrigh); two sisters, Sheila Ann Thompson and Paulette Russell; (preceded in death) Lauretta Pailin, Camie Morton, Marcella England, and Sharon Wright; two brothers, Marcel Wright and Tyrone Wright (preceded in death), Victor Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends that loved her dearly.
