Rickie D Jones

.RICKIE DELMOR JONES was born on June 29, 1955 to Alfonza Jones, Sr. and Rosa Jones in Ft. Benning, Georgia. He departed this life on January 15, 2024 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Due to being a “military brat,” Rickie attended various schools in several states and finalized his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Rickie was extremely talented in several sports, but truly enjoyed playing basketball and tennis. Rickie began his matriculation at Baltimore City Community College, but later decided to enlist in the military. While living in Baltimore Maryland, Rickie met Deborah McNeil-Johnson. From their union, Allen Jones was born on September 24, 1980. Rickie was known to excel at everything he did and was a very hard worker. Most notably, he took pride working for the Baltimore Sun Newspaper, as well as various Security Guard positions throughout Maryland. In his pastime, Rickie loved to collect and listen to various genres of music. While his favorite genre of music was jazz, and one of his favorite artists was Sade, he became very fond of current Hip-Hop artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Nipsey Hussle. Rickie also had a secret love for photography, that became a hobby of his while in the military, and often sent home photos of places he had visited to family and friends. Rickie’s most cherished activity was his love for cooking, which became obvious during his time at our family business, Cheyenne’s Southern Café. Rickie’s quiet and introverted demeanor disappeared when he was in the kitchen. His personality and laugh were definitely a customer favorite. Rickie made numerous friends and will be missed by many who knew him. Rickie is preceded in death by his brother Larry Jones and nephew Christopher Ambrose. Rickie’s memory will forever be cherished by: his son, Allen Jones; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfonza Jones Sr.; sister, Tanya Ambrose; brother, Alfonza Jones; nieces, Lynnea and Margo; nephew, John Michael; great-nephew and -niece, Camar and Kaliyah; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
