Richard John Redd, III

OBITUARY He departed his life on August 27, 2022. Richard John Redd III and was born on January 24,1983, in Columbia, South Carolina to Mary Marable Redd and Richard John Redd Jr. During his first years of life, he was called “Baby Rick”. He accepted Christ at a very young age. Richard attended Henrico County Public Schools and graduated from Highland Springs High School in June 2001. In 2019, Richard earned his Associate of Science Degree in General Education from Troy University. On September 11, 2001, Richard enlisted into the United States Air Force. He graduated from Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) Apprentice School at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. He served honorably with the 1st Special Operations Civil Engineering Squadron (Formerly the 16th Civil Engineering Squadron), Hurlburt Field, Florida, and the 919th Civil Engineering Squadron, Duke Field, Florida, achieving HVAC/R Journeyman and the rank of Technical Sergeant. Richard later moved to the Middle East for 12 years where he worked as a Contractor. Richard was a devoted son, brother, nephew, and uncle. He was a light that shined bright in the lives of his family and friends. Richard was an exceptional and special young man with a heart of gold. Everyone who knew him can attest to his loving and gentle spirit and that he was the voice of reason in any situation. Richard’s outlook on life was, every day is a new opportunity, a chance for a new beginning. He had a calming effect on everyone, and he lived his life like it was golden. Even though no one is perfect, some folks described Richard as an Angel on earth. Richard will forever be loved and missed. He is survived by his parents, William and Mary Harden, four brothers, Justin Redd, William Harden, Jr.(Rhonda), Davion Harden, and Ricardo Redd, two sisters, Amelia Redd, and Sharon Harden, four Aunts, Elsie Parham, Mia Marable, Brenda Harris (Randolph) Iris Wright (Holley) Three Uncles, Timothy Redd (Janice), Ernest Redd, and Mark Redd and a host of nieces ,nephews, cousins, and friends. He is also survived by a special friend, Ingon Mongkholkool, and a devoted friend, Shelli Green. We will always treasure the brief time we had with you. Unseen unheard but always near. Still loved, still missed, and forever dear. Gone, but not forgotten.
