Rev. Willie Mae Rice

Willie Mae Rice went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 7, 2002. She was born February 5, 1943 in Wilson, North Carolina to Willie and Beulah Green. Willie moved to Baltimore, Maryland at an early age and was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. She graduated from Carver Vocational Technical High School in 1962. She was employed by Bell Atlantic from 1967- 2000 and Verizon Wireless from 2000 until her illness prevented her from performing her duties as a Customer Service Representative. She was united in holy matrimony to Johnny Rice in 1983, he preceded her death. God blessed them with one daughter, Heather L. Rice. Willie was saved at an early age. She was baptized at Green’s Temple. Se attended New Mount Hebron Baptist Church for several years. She was called in the ministry in the early 80’s. Willie had a love, hunger and a thirst for the Word of God. This motivated her into Biblical Studies. She received and Associate degree in 1995, Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry in 1996, Master of Divinity 1997, Doctoral of Ministry in 1998, and a Certificate in Pastoral Counseling in 1998 from Family Bible Institute, College and Seminary, in Baltimore, Maryland. Willie was ordained a Prophet, at the Fullness of Christ Evangelistic Church by Pastor Gregory Stirred. Willie was a avid reader, her favorite source was the Word of God, she had an extensive Christian library. Willie was a caring, giving, compassionate, loving Woman of God. She ministered to the elderly at the Forest Haven Rest Home, as well as the Women’s Detention Center in Baltimore City. Willie joined Shiloh Ministries in Baltimore, in 2000 where she served as Prophet, Sunday School Superintendent, Adult Family Enrichment Instructor and Women’s Ministry Teacher. Willie had a passion for teaching and taught with zeal and enthusiasm. She developed the Intercessory Prayer Ministry at Shiloh Ministries at Baltimore and all were blessed spiritually by her teaching. Willie enjoyed a very special and beautiful relationship with her sister Judy. The love between the two of them was wonderful to witness when they interacted with one another. It was a bond that even death cannot sever. Her daughter, Heather was Willie’s pride and joy. She was loving, nurturing, patient, kind, devoted, committed and compassionate mother. Willie was a great woman of faith and true evangelist who shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all who listened. We have the blessed assurance that she is somewhere around God’s throne singing Holy, Holy, Holy to the Lamb of God. She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her daughter, Heather Rice; her father, Willie Green; one sister, Judy Weaver, one brother-in-law, Michael Weaver; two aunts, Lula Hayes and Mabel Williams; one uncle, Bruce Sutton; three nephews, Malcolm, Myron and Marlon Young; two nieces, Mia Young and Michaelle Weaver; two godchildren, Rhonda Williams and Anthony Joyner and a host of cousins and friends.
