Reginald Wallace

Reginald Wallace son of the late Stanley Wallace and Ethel M. Powell was born in Cold Spring, St. James, Jamaica West Indies, on January 10, 1933. He departed this life quietly on March 11, 2002. Reginald was well loved by all that knew him. Educated formally in Jamaica, Reggie of Jack” as his friends knew him, joined the Merchant Marines as a teenager and became a crewman and engineer. He loved his life on the sea traveling to various countries and the lifelong friends he made. Reggie was a hard worker and while at sea worked to support his mother other siblings, wife and children. In 1966 he joined his wife in the United States of America and began building on his American dream. He worked as an engineer at Baltimore Gas and Electric as well as other facilities. In 1974 he gained his prized employment. That year General Motors Corporation employed him. Always the planner, Reggie worked relentlessly and helped sponsor all his siblings, mother and other relatives to the States. Reggie retired from the Broewing Highway plant in 2001 after 28 years of faithful service. He retired the plant, but said he would always be GM man. In retirement Reggie looked forward to working on his tenant properties, spending time with his family, playing with his grandchildren who called him “Pop Pop”, cruising in his prized Cadillac and traveling. Reggie would always say, “You love the life you lead and lead the life you love.” He truly loved life and thanked God for the many blessing that God had given him. This man with a giving heart gave his life to Christ in 1999. Reginald married Monica Archer Wallace in 1956. From this forty-six year marriage they had four children. They are Cedric L. Wallace, Christopher G. Wallace, Aretha N. Wallace, and Ingrid C. Wallace.Reggie leaves loving memories with three sisters, Blanzie McKenzie, Joyce Clemenson, Jennifer Gregory; three brothers, Norman Wallace, Adolph Wallace and Keith Wallace; three brothers-in-laws, Sidney McKenzie, Clifton Clemenson, Derrick Clarke, and Vincent Gregory; three daughters-in-law, Metra Wallace, Marian “Cindy” Wallace and Evelyn Johnson; one sister-in-law, Barbara Clarke, four grandchildren, Cedric Jr., Alesha Corey and Shayun. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews as well as friends.
