Prince Eugene Alston

Prince Eugene Alston was born December 31, 1935, and departed this life on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 3:11 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital, Henrico, Virginia. He was the son of Anthony and Kattie Williams Alston, both natives of Centerville, North Carolina. Both parents precede him in death. Prince had eight siblings: Matthew (wife-Linda), Charlie (wife-Maud), Stan (wife-Nettie), Ernest (wife-Yvonne), Mary (husband-Henry), and Cora (husband-John Henry), who all preceded him in death. Lynburg (wife-Annette) and Betty (husband-Robert-Lee) both reside in Louisburg, North Carolina. Prince was baptized at an early age at Fork Chapel Baptist Church, Franklin County, North Carolina. He attended Warren County School system in his early years and later attended Franklin County Public School System. Prince later moved to New Port News, Virginia for better employment and then later relocated to Baltimore, Md. Where he was employed as a cook at the Naval Ship Yard. He then relocated to New York City for better employment, where he then acquired his trade as a floor mechanic. Prince excelled as a floor mechanic and later opened his own business in Queens, N.Y. Prince found the love of his life and married Rosa Catherine Morrison from Laurel Hill, North Carolina on July 14, 1962, who he leaves to cherish his memory along with their four daughters: Katherine Eugenia Davis, Queens, New York, Brenda Denise Reid, Henrico, Virginia, Sandra Elaine Emanuel, Dinwiddie, Virginia, Barbara Boyd, Charlotte, North Carolina; two sons-in-law, Leon Davis and Maurice Anthony Reid, eleven grandchildren;Lynnasia Dayona Alston Davis, Leon Eugene Davis,Krystina Arlene Davis, Maurice Shiloh Reid, Dominique Deverueax Reid, Kenneth Maurice Reid, Maurice Anthony Reid,Jr. Michael Beltram,Andrew Emanuel,III,Christopher Carl Emanuel and Brian Sanville Emanuel, seven great grand-children, a dedicated God daughter; Tonya Walston,Alexandria,Virginia,a host of nieces,nephews,grand-nieces and grand-nephews, his niece Charlotte Robinson, who he lovingly referred to as “BIG GAL”, who shared in the last two days of his life, by his bedside, along with his wife and daughters, until he departed his life.
