Phillip Snow

Phillip Snow Jr., the son of the late Phillip Snow, Sr. and Gladys Snow, was born on October 1, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on July 2, 2008 after a lengthy illness.Phillip received his education at Carver Vocational Technical High School were his trade was carpentry. He served in the Armed Forces and was a three-year veteran of the Vietnam War. After returning from the war he employed at Fotomat as a carpenter. He was then employed at the CXS Railroad for a number of years. Subsequently, he became self-employed in Home Improvement. In 1999, he began working as a building supervisor in the Baltimore City Public School System. He enjoyed collecting antique items and loved listening to music and dancing. Phillip loved the Lord. He gave his life to Christ. He joined the St. James Free Baptist Church in 1978. He was quite active until his illness. He loved teaching Sunday school where he once served as assistant superintendent. Phillip loved to sing. He was a member of the Male Chorus, and the St. James Inspirational and Vocal Choirs. He was also a member of the Building Fund and Pastor’s Aide.Phillip met the former Edna Gray in 1981 and after many years of friendship, they were united in marriage on July 1, 1995. There were no children from this union.Phillip was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was affectionately known as “Junior,” “Phil,” and his friends called him “Snow”. He is well known throughout Baltimore City. He had friends in the North, South, East and West.He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted and loving wife, Edna Snow; daughter, Maya Snow; stepsons, Robert Gray Jr. and Anthony Gray; loving mother, Gladys Snow; and four sisters, Delores “Pinky” Snow, Queen Esther “ Peggy” Stoops, Barbara and Sandy Snow “ his little sister”; his nieces, Robin Stoops and Kayla Davis; his nephews, Phillip Worrell, Antoine Jackson, Devin Stoops, Justin Holman, Jon Paul Stoops and Jaden Snow; his loving mother-in-law, Minnie Jackson; his brothers-in-law, James Worrell and Charles Grier; his aunts, Louise Fauntleroy and Geneva Watty; his uncle, James Fauntleroy; his “ daughter”, Lynn Williams and “ son”, Terrence Bert; and a host of other relatives and friends.
