Pearl McMillon

Pearl Elizabeth McMillon, daughter of the late John and Mattie Meadows was born on May 13, 1919 in Fairfield, South Carolina.She received her formal education in the public school system of Fairfield, South Carolina. Sis. McMillon confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized into the family of the Old Hope Station Baptist Church in Fairfield, South Carolina.She later met and married Jake Feaster. Her family was the joy of her life and she loved to spoil her two sons, even throughout their adult years. Cooking for her family was a favorite pastime and she enjoyed making delicious dishes such as banana pudding and peach cobbler.In 1966 she relocated to Baltimore, Maryland. One year later she decided to take up residence in Washington, DC. There she met and married James McMillon.For a number of years she performed domestic work. The Greyhound Bus Station later employed her. In her retirement years, Sis. McMillon continued to surround herself with her family and appreciated being with them as often as possible. Nothing delighted her more than being around her children and grandchildren.In 1994, desiring to be with her sons, Sis. McMillon returned to Baltimore. Upon her return, she joined the New Pilgrim Baptist Church. She attended service regularly and loved to hear the preaching of her Pastor, Rev. Roosevelt Davenport.On Saturday, May 24, 2003 Sis. McMillon was called from labor to reward and has gone home to live with the Lord forever.She leaves to mourn their loss: two devoted sons, Charlie Feaster, Jr. and Alphonso Feaster; two daughters-in-law, Persylla Feaster and Velvet Feaster; two step-daughters, Mary Feaster of Charlotte, North Carolina and Flossie Lyles of Spartansburg, South Carolina, three grandchildren, Linda, Jeniall, and Gwen; eleven step-grandchildren, Don, Barbara, Tabitha, Roland, Levar, Jessie, Nae, Yvonne, Lorraine, John, Charles, and Sammie; several great grandchildren, and a host of nieces nephews and other relatives and friends.Sleep on dear Mother and take your rest.
