Paul W. Mitchell

PAUL WILLARD MITCHELL JR. was born on August 8th, 1981 and fell asleep in death on October 27th, 2013. From the start he was a very active little boy. When he was five years old he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes or Juvenile Diabetes. Although this disease would be with him the rest of his life, he was still a joyful child with lots of energy. Paul went to Liberty Elementary School, Scott’s Branch Elementary then to Arbutus Middle School and then on to Catonsville High School from which he graduated. Paul was employed at BWI Airport and his supervisor said he was a model employee who will be greatly missed. Paul loved to sing, tinker with electronics; and his favorite pastime was watching his favorite football team, the Baltimore Ravens. One of his fondest memories was watching the game with his Dad. His mother said if the Ravens lost the game it affected his whole day. Paul has eyes that would smile at you. When he looked at you his smile could lift your spirit. He had a very warm and inviting disposition with a heart of gold. He would do anything and give whatever he had without reservations for his family and friends. Paul did not have children of his own but he cared for his nephews and nieces as though they were his own. He truly loved them. Although his illness would get the best of him at times, he always expressed a kind and loving disposition. When you went to visit him at the hospital he would always smile and say it will be okay. Paul truly loved his family and cherished every moment with them. Paul had a special relationship with his mom. She would tend to him and do all she could to make him comfortable, sometimes with tears and sleepless nights. But Paul knew she would give all she had if she could take his illness away. Paul loved to sit and listen to the public talks and Watchtower study with his mother when she dialed in to the meetings. The bible-based information helped him cope with his situation. Paul was learning about Jehovah and all that He has in store for us and looked forward to the new world. Paul knew if anything would happen to him that he had the opportunity to experience the resurrection hope, to be able to run again, to see again and never experience the pain of Diabetes. Paul looked forward to that time. Paul was survived by his parents, Ronnie (Joe) and Beverly Minter along with Paul Willard Mitchell Sr. and Sandra Mitchell; brothers, Seth, Devonte and Tyrone; sisters, Meagon, Margaret and Darnek; nephews, Mekhi, Little Seth, Kymani, Ramon and Tristen; nieces, Tyla and Tamara; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
