Paul R.C. Brown Sr.

Paul Brown Sr., beloved son of the late Preston Brown Sr., And Mary E. Hicks (Williams) was born February 12, 1961 in Baltimore,Md. He received his crown and wings on July 7, 2023, at his home in Philadelphia,PA. after a lengthy illness. Paul, affectionately know as: Kru, Khrushchev (Kru-Chef), and Uncle Dolla, received his primary education in the Baltimore City Pubic School System and in 2011 he hid GED. He was a proud Viking of Northern High School, where he made numerous lifetime connections and friendships. One of his memorable connections was with Nannette McCoy, and through that union Kiel McCoy was born. Later in life , he met Tarsha Carlton and through that union Monique and Paul Brown Jr. were born. After many years passed, he later connected with Nannette and married his Queen on March 8, 2016. Paul was employed with Giants Supermarket, The City of Baltimore, and in 2009 in Philadelphia at Merakey as a Warehouse Coordinator until 2022. Paul loved spending time with his family. His granddaughter had his heart. He had a way with spoiling the ladies in his life. Paul was a sports fanatic. He loved playing on The Northeast Legends Basketball Team and meeting up with childhood friends. You could always find him watching Sports Center or cheering The Baltimore Ravens or the Los Angeles Lakers. His favorite story was when he met the legend Magic Johnson, while on vacation with Nannette. Paul spent most of this life in Baltimore; however, in 2008 he decided to change his life's path and move to Philadelphia, PA. where he rededicated his life to living clean and helping people. Every morning , Paul made sure to send a catchy motivational text message to get your day started on the right note - "Yup , Prayer Works." Paul was also the life of the party, known for his witty since of humor, telling jokes and most certainly dancing. He made sure to keep the running family joke of saying "DA BLUES" going all the time. He also had a way "to tell it like it is" and you still love him after. He loved getting dressed- looking good was a PRIORITY! When Paul joined NA his life changed forever. On April 21, 2023 he celebrated 15 years of being drug free. He was so motivated that he shared his story with everyone who would listen and thanked God constantly for his deliverance. Paul joined the Deliverance Evangelistic Church, where he later received certifications for the Basic Foundational Christian Principles (Drug Task Force) Mentorship for Men and Women Seeking Success. Paul had a special connection with all the nieces especially Mykia (My My) Carletta (Carla) Shirlene (Cheeks) and great-niece Shante' (Shannie Whannie). Paul leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy; his wife Nannette, hildren, Kiel McCoy, Monique Brown, and Paul Brown Jr., ; granddaughters, Saniya Richardson,and Sage Upshur; siblings, Barbara Smith, Agnes Randolph (Pete) Elijah Brown (Doris), Mary Short (John), Elizabeth Herring, (Harry); Goddaughter Tieses Knox and a host of Nieces, Nephew, Cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Phil Brown, Keaven (Cubby) Brown and Floyd Newman; and sister Joyce Jackson. Paul was a devoted Husband, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. His memory will be cherished by all that knew him.
