Patrick L. Harrison

Patrick Lenardo Harrison arrived on this earth on August 22, 2009 at 12:18 in the morning at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Unit. He was the seventh child of the late James T. and Mary A. Harrison. Patrick was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and was affectionately known as "Pat". He was kind, understanding and accepting of all people. As the Bible says, "He who has friends hath shown himself friendly", and Pat had many friends. He had a knack for making folks laugh. His enjoyment in life came from dancing, playing and watching any kind of sporting event.Pat attended Baltimore City College High School where he played lacrosse. He continued his education at Job Corps in Virginia where he acquired the trade of Electrical Technician. Subsequently, he was employed by Baltimore City Gas & Electric Co. as a technical electrician for street lights and later at Turn Key as a laborer.Pat accepted Christ at an early age at his mother's church, Christ at Love, Faith and Deliverance Church of Christ. He continued to renew that commitment at many churches he visited.Pat was a firm believer in giving back to the community. "Shady Rest" in the Brentwood/Barclay area is a self made park and garden created personally by Pat. He spent much time at Shady Rest playing spades, chess, or "shaking the bones" (dominoes) with any willing opponent. There are numerous acts of kindness with Pat performed for many people which space does not allow us to list.Pat shared a unique relationship with his nephew Shorty James-assisting him at his Holyland stand on Greenmount Ave. or being his traveling partner on road trips. Pat was a positive mentor to his nephews and nieces. He regarded them as his own.Pat's memory lives on in three brothers: Edward Harrison Sr., James T. Harrison II, and Timothy Harrison; two sisters: Rowenna Harrison and Manuella Winchester-Bey; brother-in-law: Howard Winchester-Bey, two sisters-in-law: Grace Harrison and Antoinette Harrison; stepsister: Yvonne Luckett; two aunts: Gray Posey and May Wilson; nephews: Edward Harrison Jr., James Harrison III, Clifton-Clayton-Clinton Anderson; nieces: Keisha and Davonne Harrison, Latanya Anderson, Erika Terry, Nicole and Bonita Winchester-Bey; nephew-in-law: Keith Terry; sixteen great nephews and nieces, one great grand niece, special friend: Logon and a host of relatives and friends.Pat took part in raising Seqouia, Kyona, Crystal, Kathy and Brandie as his daughters and Batia, Ron, Anton, Ykeen, Stanley and Anthony as his grand children.Pat will be welcomed home to be with his parents by his brothers Howard and Jonathan and his nephew Antonio Harrison who preceded him in death.
