Patricia L. Townsend

Patricia Louise Townsend, affectionately called Pat or Patsy, daughter of the late Carl Linwood Townsend, Sr. and Harriett Dashiell Townsend was born on June 17, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland. She Departed this life peacefully on January 25, 2023. Patricia accepted Christ at an early age. She would visit Zion Baptist Church frequently; her faith was very important to her. She attended St. Francis Academy and later continued her education through the Baltimore City Public Schools system. Patricia was a very hard worker and maintained numerous jobs, starting with Bethlehem Steel Sparrows Point Country Club. She then went to globe Venetian Blinds, Bugle Laundry, and Ultimately Meals on Wheels where she retired on disability after she gave eighteen years of service. Her first love was her family. She was giving of herself and her time, always checking on her family members and friends near and far. She loved relying on her little fairies Kaelyn (Kae Kae), M’kenzie (Butt Butt), and Blake (Little One. Day to day she could always depend on her little helpers. Pat enjoyed hosting family gatherings so much that she created her first all-women’s club in her kitchen, “The Bold Ones”. This later turned into “The Secret Pals”. which she remained as an honorary member. She was dedicated secretary of the Wright, Williams, and Dashiell Family Reunion. In her spare time, Pat enjoyed listening to old gospel hymns and going to the casinos, but her most favorite things to do was read her novels by James Patterson, BC Andrews, and Alex Cross. Her favorite daily pastimes were watching her Westerns, The Price is right, catching up on her “soap operas” and her all-time favorite was Survivor and Big Brother. After being Pat’s presence you’d always leave feeling joyful, full and loved with plenty of laughter. Patricia was preceded in death by: one brother, Carl (Sonny) Linwood Townsend, Jr., and six sisters, Daisy Townsend, Jacqueline (Jackie) Carroll, Typythia (Chicken) Townsend, Charlott (Sue) Kearson, Veronica (Pam) Townsend, Mary Turnipseed and two devoted friends Laura (Sis) Chew and Clairce Watson. She leaves to celebrate her life and treasure her memory: two daughters, Lisa Turnipseed (Annie) and LaTrenda Townsend (Tracey); one son Kevin Townsend (Pops); one sister, Gernia Franklin (Deana); eight grandchildren, Dane Townsend, Tiffany (Meanie) Moreno (Derrick), Tyra (Pookie) Shelton, Townsend, Byron (Pumpkin) Jones, Reece (Reesecup) Shelton; one niece, Kelly (Toto); five nephews, Darryl, Dana (Butchie), todd (Fat Cat), Zachary (Zac) and Gregory; twenty great-grandchildren; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. including two friends, jeanette (Shug) Buise and Paulette Harris.
