Patricia Jordan

Pat was born at old Provident Hospital in Baltimore City, Maryland the youngest of Sarena B. and Herbert Jordan Jr's four children. She was a beautiful, happy, and energetic baby, fondly called Patty-boo. She was gifted, talented, smart, and most generous. Pat spent her youth in the Pimlico/Park Heights neighborhood in Northwest Baltimore. She was educated in the Baltimore City public schools. For many years, she worked in retail on Park Heights Avenue. Pat had her mother's gift for song. She won her first singing contest as a teenager. On occasion, she could be found at open mic nights around Baltimore. In 1987, Pat met the love of her life Eric Keys. Eric and Pat -until the day of her death-stuck together through good times and bad, through sickness ad health for over 30 years. Pat embraced Eric's love for birds and he embraced her love for cats. Pat and Eric were blessed in 1995 with a son, Eric. He became the joy of their life. Pat always enjoyed good food and cooking. She attended the Washington Culinary School before working as a cook on The Spirit of Washington and later at the 5 Mile House. Her friends and family knew every visit with Pat, being the incredibly generous person that she was, would give the last meal in the house to anyone that needed it. She had a caregiving spirit; as evidenced, when she cared for her best friend Kathy Clack's mother and then cared for Kathy, as Kathy struggled with a terminal illness. Later, she did the same for her good friend Tanya Brice. In recent years, Pat had many health problems; however, she faced them with energy and optimism. Some folks said she had nine lives she'd faced so many life threatening illnesses, but to Pat, all they did was slow her down. Pat's life in her own words: " I lived, loved and ate good food." She leaves behind a host of loving friends and family including: her soulmate, Eric Keys; son, Eric Jordan; siblings, Ronnie Johnson (Deb), Cynthia Johnson, Shelley R. Glenn (Dwight), Sheila A. Daniel (Irvin), and Herbert Jordan III (Surina); nieces and nephews, Kristie Johnson, Rhonda Johnson, Sarena C. Glenn, Sheamonique Daniel, Roxane Jordan, Christopher Glenn (Joy), and Amber Johnson; her best friend's daughter Dionna "Dee" Joseph (Robae), Benita "Niecy" Elder, Gwendolyn Smith (Daniel), Gregory Keys (Veronica), John Keys (Sharon), Glenise (Glenn), Terrel Hunt, Eric Jessup, Lindell Madison, Warren Keys, Doreathea Palmer, Linda Keys, Lord Hamilton; and a host of other friends and relatives.
