Pastor Willie Pearl Weatherspoon

On April 17, 1927, Pastor Willie Pearl Weatherspoon was born in Marlboro County, South Carolina to the late Rannie Parrot and Ted Quick, Sr.,Pastor Willie Pearl Weatherspoon, affectionately called ‘Mother Weatherspoon’ was married to the late Superintendent Willie Weatherspoon for 55 years. Whenever you would see Superintendent,you saw Mother. She was a faithful,gracious,loving supporter of her husband and a loving mother to her children, Willie Jr.,Shirley, Brenda,Linda, Charles and Fayette.She loved her children and grandchildren and taught them the power of prayer and faith. Along with her husband Superintendent Weatherspoon, they founded the Redeem Church of God In Christ where she served as First Lady for over 36 years. Many sons and daughters have beentremendously blessed by their ministry.Mother Weatherspoon served in many capacities in the church,Sunday School Superintendent,Adult Choir, Missionary Board, Prayer Warrior, Church Administrator. MotherWeatherspoon worked diligently and untiringly in the Missions Department, raising funds, clothing, medical supplies andtoiletries for the orphanages she visited yearly in Haiti.During Superintendent’s illness and passing, Mother lovingly cared for him and remained a ‘tower of strength’ for her family, church and friends. After much prayer and fasting by Mother, God greatly proved himself to her as she re-established the Temple of Hope Ministry. Mother weathered the storms. She experienced many hurts, disappointments and pain but through it all she remained faithful to her God. Through her ministry at the Temple of Hope, souls have been saved, drug addicts have been delivered, marriages have been repaired, the sick have been healed and backsliders have returned to Christ.We, the family, Temple of Hope and New Deliverance Conference of Churches are grateful for the time we shared with Mother. We have known and experienced an exemplary example of ‘Holiness’ through this anointed Woman of God.Early Sunday morning, January 13, 2008 at 9:28 am, mother took her flight from earth to Glory. Her memory is joyously celebrated by: four daughters, Shirley Rouse, Brenda Twyne, Linda Holliday and Fayette Thornton; two sons, Willie L. and Charles: two sons-in-law, Elder Melvin L. Rouse and Elder Tony Twyne; two daughters-in-law,Mae H.Weatherspoon and Pamela Eggleston;nineteen grandchildren,twenty great-grandchildren;one sister,Kathleen Nichols; two brothers,Curtis Parrot and Ted Quick, Jr.; one brother-in-law, Richard Nichols; and a host of other relatives and friends.Pastor Weatherspoon’s MottoBe holy, live holy, stay holy, “Because it is writtenyou shall be holy, for I am holy.” (1Peter 1:16)My Beloved, Stay With God.
