Ola Theresa Lewis

OLA T. LEWIS was born on September 4, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Ola was the eleventh of thirteen children born to the late Joseph and Grace Wiggins Campbell. Ola was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Frederick Douglass High School. Ola was reared in a Christian home. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at a very young age, and became a member of Sharron Baptist Church. On November 11, 1950, Ola was united with Sherman C. Lewis, her high school sweetheart, as his faithful wife. Together, they grew to appreciate all aspects of life and godliness In 1966, Ola and Sherman became members of All Saints Roman Catholic Church. From their forty-five year union, two loving and faithful sons were born. Glen Darryl and Sherrod, both of whom preceded her in death. Sherman and Ola shared a zest for Real Estate-from renovation to development for many years in the Baltimore and Kilmarnock, Virginia areas. They franchised, owned, and operated a couple of downtown 7 Eleven stores. Ola spent many hours performing work as a housekeeper Ola was a very kind, pleasant, and mild-tempered person. She was quiet, intelligent, and a very devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. Ola and her sisters formed a social club, "The Dreamers" meeting monthly and serving to promote togetherness and preserve family tradition. She enjoyed traveling, reading the bible, playing cards, and going to various eating places with her nieces. Ola always had a good appetite. She became engrossed in contributing and developing the "Family Tree." Ola and Vanessa were the family historians, commonly known as the "Go To Members". One of the highlights for Ola was spending time with her family and friends, entertaining, having pool parties, and "Family Reunions: at her home. Her memory will be cherished by: her loving and devoted daughter-in-law, Valerie J. Lewis; four grandchildren, Christian and Ashlyn (who affectionately called her "Me Me"), Derek and Chanel Nicole; eight nieces, Grace J. Crowner, Sandra V. Brown, Renee M. Jackson, Lisa D. Smith, Denis Hall, Deborah McPherson, Lynn Harmon, and Loren S. Campbell; five nephews, Ronald Campbell, Jr., Terrell Young, and Alan Martin; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, several great-great-nieces and nephews, an a great number of other family and friends.
