Odelle Robinson Lee

Odelle Robinson Lee was born September 17,1925,in Mecklenburg,County Virginia,to the late Irene Robinson. She was reared in Clarksville,Virginia. She accepted the Lord at an early age and grew in the knowledge and wisdom of Him. Mother Lee met and married the late Bishop Andrew Nathaniel George Lee. From this union was born one daughter,the late Vashti"Sheba"Lee-Tyler. They also raised a son Nathaniel Lee. She became an essential part of the Bright and Morning Star Pentecostal Church,pastored by Bishop Lee. Many souls were brought to Christ through this ministry. Mother Lee served in several ministries throughout her lifetime. Odelle's love for the Lord was demonstrated through the works that she did and she became known to all who met her as Mother Lee. Her life's work also included providing a loving home to numerous children who went on to become productive citizens. She remained a faithful member of New Jerusalem ICM until her health failed. Mother Lee was a fashionable lady and enjoyed making other ladies look their best. In her early years,she worked as a stylist in her sister's hair salon. She later joined the staff at the Richmond Memorial Hospital Nursery and in her later years she retired from the Word of Life Child Learning Center in 1998. She enjoyed the role she played in helping Bobby and Vashti rear her beloved grandchildren,Bobby and Adara. She enjoyed preparing meals and "keeping things straight". Sometimes they would tease her about a "senior moment" to which she would lovingly reply"Child,keep on living". Odelle Robinson Lee transitioned from this life on February 11,2011. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter,Keisha Hall and daughter, Rev. Vashti Lee-Tyler. She leaves to cherish her memory,son Nathaniel "Chip" Lee;a devoted son-in-law,Bobby H. Tyler;three grandchildren,Bobby L. Tyler(LaShawn),Adara Tyler and Jason Lee;three great grandchildren,Lashauna,Jaelem and Zion Tyler;a sister Mozelle Walker. Extended family includes,Yohance(Dionne),Chioke,Serwa,Akil Lee and Takiyah Lee-Allen. Devoted foster children included,Vernelle,Cynthia,Sam,Lawrence and Richard,just to name a few.Devoted friends include,Mother Leona Salters,Janet Bellamy,Mary Ford,Mother Bunche,Evangelist Nellie Thomas and her friends at the Manor Care Nursing Facility,Ms Maggie and Mrs. Pitts. She will also be remembered by a host of nieces,nephews family and friends.
