Nyi'Quan Q Simpson

Nyi'Quan Quantay Simpson, 14 years young, of Baltimore, Maryland departed this earthly life unexpectedly and the angels came and carried him away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Bayview Hospital. He was born on April 22, 2005, in Baltimore, Maryland to Ashley Simpson and Lawrence Toogood. Nyi'Quan graduated middle school in June of 2019 from Baybrook Elementary School. He began high school at New Era High School and recently transferred to Owings Mills High School to complete his 9th grade school year. He loved going to Baybrook Recreation Center to play basketball. Nyi'Quan would go there every day and participate in open recreation games. He enjoyed doing what most 14-year-old boys do, playing video games, and ordering games with his Mom's credit card. Nyi'Quan also enjoyed dancing. He loved birthday cake. He didn't have a favorite flavor, he just enjoyed eating birthday cake. Nyi'Quan was excited about their new home, attending a new school and getting an iPhone for Christmas. Most importantly, Nyi'Quan had a deep love for his family, and cherished the time they would spend together. He did everything with his Mom and his sister, Jameeha. In the Spring, his sister attended her junior prom and he was just as excited as she was. He also enjoyed spending time with one of his favorite cousins, Seiquan. They would spend the weekends together and play video games all night long. He also liked to go to church with a special family friend, Al. Nyi'Quan was a respectful, happy, outgoing young boy. Although he was born with a heart condition and endured several surgeries, he was upbeat and didn't complain. He made the most of his life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He had a beautiful smile and an energy that with even just one encounter with him, you would remember him for life. Nyi'Quan's passing will leave a huge void in lives of all that knew and loved him. He will continue to stay with us all through memories, although our lives will never be the same. For Nyi'Quan sake we must come together and laugh for he would have wanted it that way. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sha'Nyiah and his grandmothers, Lenora Simpson and Roslyn Day. Nyi'Quan leaves to cherish his memory his mother Ashley Simpson and his father Lawrence Toogood of Baltimore, Maryland; his siblings, Jameeha Griffin-Simpson and Kyasia Toogood; his grandfathers, Titus Green (Debbie) and Lawrence Toogood Sr.; six aunts, Lynnett Carter, Dannette Wise, Keontye Little, Rev. Erica Toogodd, Christina Day, Alexia Bailey; and two uncles, Angelo Bailey and Glen Green, all of Baltimore, Maryland; godmother, Jackie Simpson; brother-figure, Layne Thomas; one special cousin, Seiquan Conway and a host of relatives and friends.
