Norman A. Patterson Sr.

NORMAN ARTHUR PATTERSON, SR., son of Arthur Patterson and Evelyn E. Patterson, was born February 8, 1937 in Essex, Maryland. He departed this life on April 2, 2014 after suffering from health complications. At an early age Norman (affectionately known as Chubby) accepted the Catholic faith. Later in life, he joined the “Freedom Church and Ministries.” Norman was a promising student and received his education at Saint Frances Catholic School in Baltimore. He continued his education at Carver Vocational School. Upon completion of his education, he served in the Army and was proud to be an honorable Veteran. While serving his country, he fulfilled his personal passion as a musician playing before royalty. He retired from Lever Brothers after thirty years of service. Norman leaves to cherish his beautiful memory: his wife of forty-seven years, Eva Patterson; two sons, Norman A. Patterson, Jr. (deceased) and Glenn Patterson; two daughters, Norma U. Patterson (deceased) and Traci Johnson; brother-in- law, Eugene (Quincy) Hill; sister, Barbara Johnson (deceased); sister-in-law, Jodell Wilson; grandchildren, Norman A. Patterson III, Glenn A. Patterson, Jr. (deceased), Greg A. Patterson, Grant A. Patterson, Michael A. Okiyi, Sharif K.Y. Gaines, Shar’dai M. Gaines, and Israel A. Patterson; three aunts, Delores Poole, Patricia Couplin, and Jean Green; a host of other relatives and friends. Norm loved living life to the fullest, especially fishing, cooking, boating, singing, playing the drums and meeting people from all walks of life. He was our river ever flowing and molding us, and he will be missed by all who loved him. Norm made numerous friends and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew him.
