Norma J. Clark

Norma Jean Haynie was born December 24, 1932 in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Cora and Lester Haynie. She was the youngest of thirteen chidden.Norma received her education in the Greensboro, North Carolina School System. Her greatest job was that of mother and housewife.Norma married Willie F. Clark, Sr. in 1951 and of that union she had seven children. Five (Cassandra, Gail, Wayne, Reginald and Renee) preceded her in death at an early age due to a tragic house fire in the early 60’s.Norma gave her life to Christ at an early age. She attended mass at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center as often as her health would permit.Norma was a friend, confidant, and inspiration to all those that knew her. Although she was confined to a wheelchair after a stroke in 1989, she attempted to remain active by playing electronic hand games, reading, doing puzzles and various craft projects. Her favorite projects were making jewelry and Christmas trees from pinecones. Another passion was eating. She loved going to Golden Corral and then to the movies or the mall. During the younger years, she enjoyed cooking and everyone liked her greens, cornbread, potato salad, apple cobbler, homemade cakes and sweet potato pies.During the years she provided day care for many of her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, Norma encouraged them all to do the right thing.Norma leaves to mourn: two children, Willie Floyd Clark Jr. and Veronica Clark-Green; one brother, Harold Haynie and Annie May Rankin of Greensboro, North Carolina: two sisters-in-law, Alice Haynie and Annie May Rankin of Greensboro, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Mark A. Jones Jr., Willie F. Clark III, Cassandra J. Jones and Candis Clark; special friends, Mona McClain, Dennis Yarrell, Annette Clark, Vanessa Thompson, Mark Jones Sr., Michael Green, Genevieve Briscoe and Jeanette Warner. She will be greatly missed by all.Dear Jean,We love you dearly and rally hated to see you go but we know you are safe with Jesus and that you are not suffering anymore.
