Nina J. Harper

Nina Harper is the daughter of Verna Marie Clinton and the late William Henry Redditt. Nina was born August 30, 1941 in Baltimore Maryland. She went home suddenly to be with God at the age of 65 on Thursday November 16, 2006. Nina was educated in the Baltimore City Public School Systems through the 9th grade, and later persevered to obtain her G.E.D. She always wanted to become a nurse and took other related health care courses that allowed her to work for over 30 years as a certified nursing assistant, a geriatric nursing assistant and later as a certified medication assistant. Nina enjoyed taking care of people and held a domiciliary care permit for over 40 years; which allowed her to care for frail elderly people in the community. Nina met and married the late Carlton Harper Sr. Out of this union came one child, Canton Harper Jr. The late Canton Harper Sr. adopted Nina’s three children form a previous marriage. Nina was a member of the Radiant Stars Chapter No. 21 of The Supreme Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Stars. Nina loved traveling and spending tie with her children and grand-children. She also enjoyed gospel music and attending church. She was a member of St. Joseph Free Will Baptist Church for many years where she commissioned her service to the Lord as a church usher. She leaves to mourn her mother Vema Clinton; her fiancé Rodney hail; three sons, Ashley Harper, Ronald Harper and Canton Harper Jr.; one daughter, Vernice Clayborne; two adopted daughters, Michelle Bates and Keyonte Harper; two son-in-laws, 00 Rodell Clayborne and John Bates; one daughter-in-law, Lawanda Harper; seven sisters, Verna Bryan, Geraldine Greer, Frances Beauford, Marion Ingram, Linda Butler, Janet Scott and Ernestine Wilkens; one brother Thomas Clinton; four adopted sisters, Mary Doris Clay, Shirley Wilson, Carlinda Wilson and Robyn Day; two adopted brothers, Dominic Wilson and Charles Wilson; six brother-in-laws, Wesley Greer Sr., Leroy Beauford, William Ingram, James Butler, Joseph Wilkens and Roy Bryan.; two sister-inlaws, Rita Clinton and Sherry Wilson; seventeen grand-children, 5 great grand-children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
