Nathaniel Cook

Nathaniel Cook, son of the late Mr. Costell and Mrs. Lovelee Cook. Nathaniel was born on May 18, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland. On June 27, 2014, Nathaniel Cook departed his life peacefully in his sleep to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was baptized earlier in his life where he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. Nathaniel received his education at Dunbar High School. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Army. He was a former member of the Mason, an organization of men making a difference in the world. He worked for John Hopkins Hospital and Abucus Corporation as a Janitor and also, The Baltimore City Public School System as an engineer operator specializing in Heat, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems. Nathaniel also worked for Recreation and Parks revitalizing and landscaping local parks and highways. He was known as a handyman and auto mechanic “he could fix anything that needed fixing”. Nathaniel was known as “Boobie” or “Cook” to his close family, friends and colleagues. Boobie loved the outdoors and spending time with his nieces and nephews engaging in conversations and ride-a-longs while traveling around Baltimore City. He always had something inspirational to say. He always supported his family and friends with their goals. He leaves to mourn: son, Nathaniel Cook; his daughter-in-law, Shay Cook and granddaughter, Alana Cook; his beloved sisters and brothers, Clarice Bess, Mildred Hart, Joseph Cook, Martin Cook, Gale Cook, Samuel Cook, James Cook and Charice Cook (one sister and two brothers preceded him in death: Sheila Cook, Steward Cook and Gerald Cook); sister-in-law, Virginia Cook; two aunts, Lucille Boyd and Rosa Hart; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and his longtime good friends, Douglas and Joe. After thirty years of friendship, he married his beloved wife Dorothy Jackson-Cook on July 3, 2010. He just didn’t gain a wife, but he also gain his extended family which includes one father-in-law, seven sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, five step-children and six grandchildren who he loved dearly.
