Nathan Boyd Hill

Nathan "Bootsy" Hill was born April 22,1959 in Richmond,Virginia to the late Walter and Christine Hill Hayes. The LORD called him home on December 1,2012 at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville,VA. He is survived by his wife of thirteen years,Patricia Vickers Hill and leaves to cherish his memory four children,Sweeze`,Dwayne,Tiara and Tiona,two sisters,Shirley (Thomas) and Deborah(Albert);mother-in-law,Ann "Nannie" Vickers;brother-in-law,Wade(Sherri);two aunts,Mammie(Raleigh)and Annie Ruth;two nephews; Calvin and Robert Hill;two nieces;Brittani and Kayla Vickers;three great nieces,a host of cousins and friends among them Orlando Morris ,Robert Bartlett,Thomas"Boo Boo"Cooper. Nathan grew up in the city of Richmond where he attended Richmond Public Schools. In 1978,he graduated from John Marshall High School. His career of service began right out of high school when he enlisted in the United States Army where he served for seven years as a Sergeant. He was then employed with the Richmond City Jail as a Deputy and was promoted to Lieutenant within his seven year tenure. Nathan went on to the Henrico County Sheriff's for the next ten years. He then became an employee of Richmond Memorial Hospital in 1994 as a security guard where he met the love of his life,Patricia and played on the company softball team. He later transferred to St. Mary's Hospital where he remained until his death. Nathan's passion for life were for his family and working. His boys have fond memories of playing football and basketball with their Dad. He was always about family and made sure that "family first" mantra was a part of his legacy. Until the Lord called him home,Nathan was a full time Security Guard at St. Mary's Hospital and a full time machine operator with media General where he has been employed for the past 18 years. Neither of these organizations will be the same without his presence. Nathan always had a comedic spirit and spent most of his days either laughing with you or at you. He spared no one from his sense of humor,but that made everyone feel comfortable and to know him was to live him.
