Nannie Mae Ross

Nannie Mae Morrison-Ross, the 5th and youngest child of the late Brown Morrison and Belle McLaughlin Morrison, was born on December 18, 1934, in Cumberland County Fayetteville, North Carolina. She departed this life suddenly on January 25, 2012. Nannie was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister: James Thomas Morrison, Steven Morrison, William Taft Morrison, and Josephine Morrison. Nannie was raised in a Christian Home and accepted Christ at an early age as her personal Lord and Savior. During her childhood, she was a very active member of the Beauty Spot Missionary Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed singing solos and singing in the church choir. She enjoyed attending bible studies, prayer meetings, giving speeches and reciting poetry during various church programs. Nannie truly loved the Lord. After graduating from Ann Chestnut High School in Fayetteville, she met and married her former husband King Ross, Sr., and they moved to Baltimore MD. From this union were born Lillian V. Ross, Annette R. Cook, King Ross, Jr. and Rene’ J. Ross. Nannie worked primarily as a food service worker for various companies. During early 70’s, Nannie joined the Mt. Calvary Pentecostal (Holiness) church, where she received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Nannie loved her children and her grand and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and especially enjoyed family gatherings. Nannie also loved growing various kinds of plants, and she cherished her cats (Lynwood and Loretta). Nannie M. Ross leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Lillian (a.k.a. Vendy) Ross, Annette Ross Cook (Elder Aaron L.), King Ross, Jr. (a.k.a. Pete), and Rene’ J. (a.k.a. Ne’Ne’) Ross; grandchildren Paula R., Antonio R., and Robert N. Wolfe (Tacandra), Aaron C. (Demetria), Aneisha B., and April D. Cook, and Larry D. Kearney, Jr. and Lisa S. Kearney; Great Grandchildren Ta-Shaveon J., Elisha A., and Anyia N. Allen, Nyajah V. Montague, Tashae and Robert N. Wolfe, Jr., Ta’Vaiah T. Wolfe and Thomas D. Tanzymore, Ava A. and Aaron T. Cook and Courtnie M. Savage; Devoted Sister-in-Law Pauline Ross; devoted lifelong Friend Leola Harrington; devoted family friend and caregiver Antonio Rice; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.
