Nannie Lee Boydner

Mother, Nannie Lee Boydner, daughter of the late James Hall and Nannie Brown Hall was born in Blackstock, S.C. on June 6, 1915. She departed this life on Saturday, April 10, 2004.Nannie attended the South Carolina public schools. After completing her program, she moved to Charlotte N.C. where she met her husband, the late Nolie Boydner. In 1983, Nolie preceded her in death. From their union nine children were born, including two sets of twins. One twin daughter and two sons, Alonzo and Robert (Odell) also preceded their mother in death.Mother Boydner, as she was affectionately called, was a great friend, mother and sister to those of us who had the privilege of knowing her. Since 1955, she was a faithful member of the Faith Tabernacle Church, under the leadership of Pastor, Lucille Calloway. Mother loved her church family and did what she could to help in the furtherance of the ministry. Mother did not need to work up the spirit. The mere mention of the name of Jesus would cause her spirit to quicken. We often laughed, and said she was washing clothes, as she expressed her love for God.In her early years, she was known as a good cook. However, there was so much more to her, than being a good cook. Although, being a good cook did not hurt her calling. (Smile), God blessed her with a help’s ministry, and he also gave her the biggest heart, with which to fulfill her mission. She would reach out to people in need, even when they took advantage of her generosity. Mother was the kind of woman that King Solomon spoke of in Proverbs 31, when he asked, who can find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies. She was the crown jewel who will always be remembered fondly by her friends and family.Mother Boydner is survived by four daughters, Jannie, Jeanette, Josephine and Eloise; two sons, Eddie and Joseph; one brother, Eddie Hall; one sister, Jeanette Boyd; three sisters-in-law, Ronnie Mae Crowder, Leila and Betty Hall; one brother-in-law, Willie Boyd; one daughter-in-law, Jackie; two sons-in-law, Douglas and Franklin; eleven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, five great, great, grandchildren, seven nieces, five nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
