Myka Shellene Hill-Gray

Ms. Myka Shellene Hill Gray was born on November 20, 1995 in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. She was the loving daughter of Michael G. Gray Sr. and Ava Hill-Scott. On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, in Baltimore, Maryland, Myka peacefully left this life and transitioned to glory. Myka was educated in the public school systems of Maryland and Virginia; and graduated from Chesapeake High School, Baltimore County, Maryland, class of 2013. An early entry college student, she continued her education at Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), where she studied Business Management. Myka learned the importance of self-sufficiency and began working at Footlocker, and swiftly moved to an Assistant Manager position where began to hone her leadership skills. Her other places of employment included several retail management positions. Myka’s career path shifted to healthcare as a caregiver and medical office assistant; afterward she became an entrepreneur. Myka loved her family and especially children. Being a mother was everything to her. Mayson, My’lani, and her goddaughter Myah brought her comfort and joy. She was a giver at heart and would do anything for anyone, sacrificing her well-being for others. You can find Myka cooking large meals on any day, inviting everyone over. She was famous for saying, “”where you at?” Often, she gathered groups of children, taking them on outings, sleepovers, and fun trips. To many, whether related or not, she was “Auntie Myka.” Her joy was creating happy, fun, and memorable times for all to enjoy. Myka was a “whole vibe,” a social butterfly, and enjoyed being the life of the party. She had a genuine connection with people and left a memorable impression on others. Myka was a born leader determined not to wait for things to happen; instead, she made things happen. She was a “go-getter” and consistently lived life to the fullest. Myka loved spending time with her family, especially her siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She had a special bond with her sisters and brothers. She was often taking selfies and countless videos. Myka took pride in capturing moments at every event. She was honored to become an “auntie” and bragged when her first and favorite nephew “Jayven Isaiah” was born. Myka leaves to cherish her memory: her parents, Ava Hill-Scott, (Tiffinee Scott) and Michael G. Gray Sr. (Dynisha Woods-Gray) and children, Mayson and My’Lani Gray; goddaughter, Myah Belcher; great-grandparents, Ruth McWilliams (preceded in death James McWilliams); grandparents, Clyde and Louise Gray (preceded in death), Jimmie and Shelley Hill, Loria and Howard Stewart; sisters, Kourtney Hill, Deja Jackson, and Tiarra Renee Brown-Lewis (preceded in death); brothers, Michael “Miko,” Denzel “Terrez,” and Jordan; aunts, Latoya Gray and Patrice Stubbs; uncles, Rev. Dr. J. Lee Hill Jr., Douglass Gray; nieces, Kalia and Nala; nephews, Jayven, Brayson, and Douglas Jr. (Deuce); a host of great-aunts, uncles, and cousins; devoted cousins-like brothers, Big James Winston and Chris “LC” Raeford; life-long best friend, Shawdai Ford; and a host of extended family and friends. Myka held a special bond with friends, often nicknames only she could remember. Myka exuded joy and love to all.
