Monique Sherrie Townsend

Monique S. Townsend (affectionately known as “Moe”) was selected to be amongst the angels on August 10, 2014. God called his Angel home away from her pain and suffering, her body could no longer keep pace with her spirit; therefore she began her journey home. Monique was born on March 26, 1977 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Harriett Townsend and Carl (Sonny) Townsend Jr. Monique, was a devoted daughter and sincerely cherished by her Mom “Harriett”, the bond they shared was irrefutable and unparalleled. Monique received her formal education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She graduated from Patterson High School. After completing high school, Monique began her work career at Gallagher Services for several years. Her employment tenors continued at Saint Peters Learning Center and NorthStar Special Services Inc. She stayed on the career path of serving those in need. She fought hard and vigorously through her illness to make it to work at NorthStar Special Services Inc. (never giving up her job). Her commitment was commended and appreciated by her employer. Monique was well known and loved for always being outspoken and compassionate with those she loved and cared for. It was an easy task for her to give unselfishly in the personal and work aspects of her life. Monique enjoyed working with Intellectually Disabled Individuals and always remained humble and caring while insuring their needs were met. Those who knew Monique also knew that she was all about supporting and assisting those close to her heart whether it was family or friends in her personal life. She chronicled her life with wit and wisdom. According to Monique’s account, this was through the teachings of her biggest fan (her Mommy). Monique also began displaying her creativity through her ability to design and make Reefs. She enjoyed knowing her customers knew the pride and compassion that she placed into her creative works were straight from her heart. She truly loved a great laugh and good times, listening to her favorite songs and reminiscing always brought a huge smile to her face, when she got dressed (looking beautiful) for an evening out with her main girls there was no stopping her). Monique exemplified (BFF), this held true through good and difficult times. She shared a special bond for many years with Loretha J. (Pooh) who was at her side when she traveled home, Latoya P. (Toya) who was always the listening ear and get away from it all and (White Girl) Tina M., who was always there (the balance in their friendships). Monique shared a unique and astounding relationship with each of her friends. Monique leaves to cherish her memories one (1) loving brother Marvin Bowden, her brother (Donnell Key) preceded her in death, one sister (Patricia Townsend); Monique also leave cherishable memories to her two #1 fellows: Harvey (Nook) Gray Jr. (her God given child) and Marvin Bowden Jr. (her nephew). Her true companion (Niles Ringo) preceded her in death. Thirteen aunts; Deana F., Patricia K., Freida K., Mary M. (husband Maurice) Patricia T., and Rebecca Q. Six aunts preceded her in death. Six uncles; John K. (wife Roxanne), Robert W. Alonzo K, George W., and James W. preceded her in death. Four nieces; Towyla, Jaylan, Sincere, Shambre. Extended nieces: Shalexis (Helen) & Trinity (Mama Noochie) Three nephews; Marvin Jr., Tyson and Darnell. Great nephew (Will) Two god daughters; Auyana and Tasia; and devoted cousin, Tina. She have many other family and friends to carry on her life through storytelling and remembrance.
