Monique N. DeVillasee

Monique N. DeVillasee was born on September 11, 1980 in Baltimore, Maryland at Sinai Hospital. She was born to Ronald & Jacqueline Vinson. She departed this life early Sunday morning August 7th due to a lengthy illness. Monique was affectionately known as “Mighty Mo” by her big brother Jason and friends due to her mightiness. She could out run them all leaving them in the dust. Before Salt & Peppa we had the “Sista Girls” Monique & Shenise on the mic at the tender age of 8 performing live at Jackie’s Place for anyone who would listen. Monique married her High School sweetheart Jamal L. DeVillasee on September 24, 2001. Out of this union 3 beautiful children were born, Micah (who preceded her in death), Mia and Elias. Monique received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System where she graduated from Mervo class of 1998. Because of her love for writing she was nominated for a writing program at Towson State University. By the way, to know Monique was to know fashion. Monique was truly UNIQUE. Although Moni had a love for fashion she also enjoyed music and reading. Mo really took pride in being a loving mother and wife. Monique was a hard worker and maintained several positions in the workforce. Due to her illness she retired from Carroll County Dept. of Social Service as a Family Support Worker April 2016. At 10 years of age Monique was introduced to Jehovah God by her mother. She studied the bible as a child but it wasn’t until later in her life that she began her personal relationship with Jehovah God her Heavenly Father. Prior to her pregnancy with Elias she accepted a personal bible study with Jacqueline Matthews. During the last 24 hrs. of her life Monique expressed that her purpose in life was to learn about Jehovah. She said “Mom I want to teach others what I have learned about Jehovah. I realize now that is my purpose in LIFE...” Monique will be remembered by: her husband, Jamal L. DeVillasee; her children: Mia and Elias DeVillasee; her parents, Jacqueline Williams & Husband (Andre), Ronald Vinson & Wife (Linda), her siblings: Jason Pulley & Wife (Danielle), Devin, Tevin, Tyree, Albert and Davon Vinson. And a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
