Monica Pinkett

Monica Pinkett was born April 18, 1970 to Beverly A. Pinkett of Baltimore, MD and the late Forest Crockett of Blacksburg, Sc.Monica was the youngest of eight siblings. She was preceded in death by her father, Forest Crockett, Sr. She was a very positive, inspirational, beautiful, and loving person. Monica was a dual graduate of Frederick Douglass HighSchool Class of 1988 and Westside Skill Center from which she obtained her cosmetology license. She made and maintained lasting friendships with many of her classmates from elementary through high school. She took great pride in organizing and spear heading numerous class reunion events throughout the years; so much so that she became the face of the FDHS Class of 1988. As a young adult, Monica professed her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a committed member of Shiloh Christian Community Church where she served faithfully on the Holy Host "Greeter's" Ministry. She will forever be remembered as a great source of inspiration and encouragement to her co-workers, family, church, community, and Facebook social network group. Her beautiful smile and jovial laughter will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Monica was a consummate professional. She worked for the State of Maryland as an Assistant to the Dean at the University of Maryland School of Nursing for 15 years. She then transferred to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene where she worked as an Administrative Specialist until her passing. She received numerous service citations from the State of Maryland for her more than 20 years of service. In addition to working full time, Monica was also pursuing her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland University College.She was just four credits away from obtaining her degree. Monica enjoyed a very close and intimate relationship with her family. Her actions and sacrifices left no doubt that she loved her children and grandson with all of her heart. She often declared that she would go to the ends of the earth for her "Dary Pary", "Nonniebugs". She took great pride in being the baby of her siblings and often declared that she was "Miss Beverly's Baby Girl."Monica delight- ed in reminiscing and delivering vivid stories about her favorite childhood memories and life experiences. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, getting her hair and nails done. She took great pride in her shoe collection. It was often joked that she could easily be dubbed "The Imelda Marcos of Baltimore, Maryland." When all was said and done, Monica enjoyed anything that involved spending time with her family. She is survived by her two children, Darius D.White and Dariona C.Jerry; Grand- son Darius D.White, Jr.; Mother, Beverly Pinkett; Special mother figure, Martina Ellis, Special father figure, Jimmy Ellis; siblings: Linda Crockett, Crystal Harris; Judea Pinkett- Thompson, Kim.Pinkett, Forest Crockett, [r., Stevie Crockett, Antonio Crockett, and Ron Crockett; aunts, Brenda Pinkett and Theresa Bailey; Uncles: Bryant Bailey and Kevin Bailey; 4 nieces, 4 nephews, very special friend, David Hollingsworth and a host of cousins and special friends.
