And so it was for our mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother “Minnie Williams, when her Lord and Savior quietly carried her from her labor to reward on Sunday, December 1, 2002 at the Northwest Hospital. Minnie made the transition from and old to a new and better life.Born unto the union of Joseph and Emma Jones April 13, 1917 in Augustus, GA.Under the loving guidance of her parents, Minnie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and this love for her Lord was nurtured and manifested throughout her entire life.Minnie met and married Freddie Douglas Bowles and was blessed with four children, one boy and three girls. Seeking a better life for themselves and their family they moved to Baltimore, Maryland.Longing for a spiritual connection in the big city Minnie along with her sister Leola joined in fellowship and later membership with the family of Mt. Hope Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Andrew Nance. They became very active in the fellowship and later member ship with the family of Mt. Hope Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Minnie joined the usher board and remained active and faithful until her death.In 1956 she met and married Roosevelt Williams, who proceded her in death.Minnie a very independent lady worked to provide for her family. She was employed at the CatPaw Co. and the Baltimore Tomatoe Company from where she retired. She forged long lasting relationships with friends and neighbors, who sought her kind wisdom and encouragement always centered in God. No one was ever a nobody once you met Ms. Minnie. Momma as she was fondly called by all, nurtured her children along their Christian journey always encouraging them to do their very best. Her household was a home of love and peace to her family and all that came within her doors. She enjoyed providing care for her family. She would prepare tasteful meals that was openly shared with neighbors and anyone that happened to stop by on Sundays and Holidays, which were the high points of these celebrations. For her endearing and compassionate life, we the family are grateful to the Almighty God for our blessing of the best Mom in the world.One son, James; and one daughter Betty preceded her in death.
