A Time to be Born: MILDRED LOUISE HOLMES-EPPS, daughter of the late Rosie and John Johnson was the oldest of six children. Rosetta Montgomery, Estelle Mclarister, Evelyn Montgomery, Marvin and Junior Johnson who Preceded her in death.She was born on October 11, 1924 in Caroline County, Virginia. She departed this life after a lengthy illness on Sunday, July 8, 2012. A Time to Learn, Love, and Labor: Mildred received her education with the Baltimore City Public School Systems. Mildred married the late Lawrence Alexander Epps on January 11, 1940. She was a loving mother of five children: Wayne, Sheila, Paula, Barbara and Michael. She was employed with the City of Baltimore as a School Crossing Guard at Walbrook High School. She also was a Civil Service employee who worked for the National Security Agency, Fort Meade, Maryland and the Social Security Administration, Woodlawn, Maryland for forty-one years. She retired in 2009. Mildred enjoyed collecting antiques, and entertaining her friend and family at home, specially around the holidays. She also enjoyed visiting various thrift shops as a collector, and loved decorating her home with her prize possessions. Mildred also love to travel to various cities with her family, friends and neighbors. Mildred saw a need for Christ in her life, so she joined the Gilles Memorial Baptist Church in 1978. She was also an active member of the Pikesville and Levin dale Day Care Center. Mildred love people and they loved her. She always lend a helping hand to all those who need her at any given time of day. Most of us who knew her call her Aunt Betty, Grandma Mille, Mille, Ma or Mrs. Epps. ` - Our Mother was a beautiful person, wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She leaves to cherish her memories are seven grand children, seven great grand children, six great great grand children. One sister, Dorothy Nixon, one brother in law Louis Nixon. Aunt’s who preceded her in death are: Mary H. Carter of Baltimore, Maryland, Elizabeth Johnson of Baltimore, Maryland, Mary Lyons of Baltimore, Maryland. One Uncle, Willie Holmes of Baltimore, Maryland, and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
