Michael Andrew Sampson Sr.

Michael Andrew Sampson, Sr. was born to Maxine Sampson-Green and the late Eddie Madison. He entered this world on January 2, 1964. A resident of Baltimore City, Maryland, he was raised in the Park Heights Community and surely loved all of Baltimore City. On June 26, 2012 the Lord called his son home to his final resting place at the age of 48 after a lengthy illness. Michael was a student at Walbrook Senior High School, and while he didn’t finish school, he was an extremely intelligent young man with a wonderful sense of humor. Michael loved cooking and always seemed to seek perfection. “His mama taught him that,” which coincidentally allowed him to enjoy what he called his exquisite taste for food. This helped to fuel his career in the restaurant industry where he started as a teen and continued working for years at different restaurants in Baltimore City. Michael eventually incorporated his knack for using his hands and ever- inquisitive mind into the field of home improvement. Although he never obtained a degree in this field, under the watchful eye of his godfather Zachariah Stanley, he was able to enjoy the partnership of working side by side fixing refurbishing houses in Baltimore City; and he could fix just about anything. Michael as a young man loved sports and dabbled in a little of all of them, especially baseball and football. He also enjoyed watching them. Mike also enjoyed game hunting and fishing. Once, he caught an eel and brought it home, put it in the bathtub, and expected Mommy to cook it… this was just how he did things. Michael had an explosive personality which made it impossible for him to avoid making friends wherever he went. He had a charitable heart and felt it better to give than to receive. He had a stubbornness about him, and sure could fuss, but that never stopped him from helping others. His life and legacy will be honored always by his family and close friends. Michael leaves to mourn a loving family: mother, Maxine Sampson-Green; stepmother, Helen Madison; grandfather, Nathan Noble; two sons, Michael Sampson Jr. and Marc Turner; two grandchildren, Dominick Turner and Katrina Turner, Sisters, Dawnet Taylor, Renee Sampson-Pack, Nicole Green, Synethia Kenner, Edwanda Gardner, Robin Smith, Deborah Wharton and Tonya Taylor; (his brother, Albert Howard preceded him in death) brothers-in-law, Mark Taylor, James Pack and Dwayne Gardner; best friends, David, Kenneth, Paul, Gregory and Clinton; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members and friends.
