Michael A. Ross

A Reflection of Life In the grand tapestry of life, we remember the life of Michael “Mike” Ross, who was called to his eternal home on February 27th, 2024, at the age of 54. He was born on March 19, 1969, in Richmond, VA, to the late Willie Ross Sr. and Lillie R. Ross. Early in life, He accepted Christ, leaving a lasting impact on those around him. Michael graduated from John Marshall High and furthered his education by earning a bachelor’s degree in Airway Science, with a minor in Business Management. His professional life included a committed tenure at UPS, beginning in 1993, where he was until his passing, and also worked as a loan specialist, at Bank of America from 1994 to 2000. He was united in holy matrimony, with the former Twylah R. Harris on October 19th, 1996, in Richmond, Virginia and to this union, they were blessed with two children. Michael had a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party. He was well known for his talkative and generous nature, always wearing a smile on his face. He enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with the ones he loved. A lifelong fan of the Redskins, now Washington Commanders, he cherished his time both at the stadium and home, cheering on his team with fervent passion. He also loved to spend time on his boat, fishing with family and friends, and going bowling---sharing his hobbies and kindhearted spirit with all those he encountered. To know Mike was to love him. He walked life’s path as a beacon of jovial spirit and generosity; his laughter and smile, a light that is stitched into the memories of all who knew him. As a loving husband, Mike is survived by his loving wife, Twylah Ross, and as a devoted father, by his daughters, Michal and Makenzie Ross. His memory will also be treasured by his mother Lillie Ross; longtime family friend and football partner, Joseph Cotman; three brothers, Sean Ross, William Snell, and Nealer Brown; his uncle, Charlie Ross; four aunts, Odell Jones, Regina Vessels, Shirley Chambliss, and Ella Mae Cook; mother-in-law, Rosa Stevens; two devoted and special friends, Thomas Beale Jr. and Bernie Hairston; four brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
