Michael Leonard Rogers Sr.

Michael Rogers, Sr., a devoted family man, dedicated real estate professional, and proud Baltimore native, passed away peacefully at the age of 77. Born on February 1, 1948, to the late Leroy and Hellen Rogers, Michael was raised in Baltimore alongside his sisters, Lorraine Rogers and Joan Mickey. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael Rogers Jr., and sister Lorraine Hepfield. Michael was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, where he built lifelong friendships and a foundation for his future career. After high school, he honorably served in the United States Army before returning home to pursue his passion in engineering where he worked at Westinghouse, then he took an interest in real estate where his career flourished. For over 30 years, Michael worked as a licensed realtor, specializing in both residential and commercial properties. He was well-known in the Baltimore real estate community for his professionalism, knowledge, and commitment to his clients. Beyond his career, Michael lived a life rich with interests and simple joys. He was an avid sports fan who loved attending Ravens football games and keeping up with his favorite teams. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time near the water, especially at the beach. He appreciated a good road trip and took pleasure in traveling with family and friends. Michael was also known for his love of politics and world history, often engaging in spirited debates and thoughtful conversations. Michael leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Tam Rogers; his children Tyrell Rogers, Shavez Rogers, and their mother Diana Rogers, Evan Mason and his mother Donna Mason, Saraiya Rogers, and Desmark Rogers; his sister Joan Mickey; and his grandchildren Tyrell Rogers, Jr., Naseem Rogers, Jarell Rogers, Isaiah Rogers, and Collin Rogers. He is also remembered by a host of extended family members and friends who will continue to honor his legacy. Michael will be remembered for his humor, love of politics and history, dedication, and the rich stories he shared with those who knew him best. His life, service, and spirit will remain a blessing to all who loved him.
