Michael David Glover, Sr.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalms 91:1,2 Michael David Glover, Sr., our beloved was born on March 23, 1967 to Charles and Margery Glover in Richmond, Virginia. He was called home to the gates of heaven to be with his Savior on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arnie Harber and Annie Mae Lucy Glover; maternal grandparents, Mast Sgt. Percy A. Bell and Margery Sharks Bell; and his cousin Gloria Ann “Poochie” Bell. Michael received his formal education from the Richmond Public School system and graduated from John Marshal High School in 1985. He furthered his education at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College studying Social Science and then transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and received a Bachelor’s of Psychology with a concentration in special education. Michael accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Hood Temple AME Church. He served within the church as a Sunday School Teacher, choir and a Member of the Trustee Board. Michael was united in holy matrimony with Edwina Denise Henderson on June 6, 1992 in Richmond, Virginia. Their union was blessed with two children, Michael Jr. and Joshua. He was employed at Martin’s (formerly Ukrop’s) as a Front End Manager - Checkout Coach for 22 years. He was a hard working employee that loved to work and help people. Michael also worked as a substitute teacher for Henrico County School system. In his leisure he enjoyed music, running and exercising his body and mind. A wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend will be missed by all. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Edwina H. Glover; two sons, Michael D. Jr., and Joshua D. Glover; parents, Rev. Charles and Rev. Margery B. Glover; sister, Charlene Gainey (Cleveland); mother and father-in-law, Ruth and Edwin Henderson; two sisters-in-law, Abigail and Beverly Henderson; devoted friends, Laura Anne and Jim McKay and Larry and Michelle Rauppius; and a host of other relatives and friends
