Michael E. Edmondson

On Saturday, September 10, 2011, MICHAEL E. EDMONDSON, JR., lovingly known as “Mikie” suddenly departed from this life. He was the beloved son of Michael E. Edmondson, Sr. and Sandra L. Edmondson, brother of Aaron Edmondson and Tiffany Edmondson-Johnson and devoted husband of Ashley Campbell. Michael was born on December 26, 1984 in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from Forest Park High School, he worked for his Uncle Dennis delivering medical supplies to correctional institutions throughout Maryland. He was later employed as a Sterilization Technician at Sinai Hospital for over two years. Everywhere he went people loved him and he touched so many lives with happiness, laughter and joy. Michael met the love of his life, Ashley Campbell, on September 10, 2000, and they were united in matrimony on October 4, 2010. He was the loving father of his only son, Deontae Michael Edmondson. Michael was a wonderful father, and the relationship with his son was admired by all. Everywhere Michael went you would see Deontae right by his side. Six years ago, Michael was diagnosed with a medical condition of an enlarged heart, Michael was fortunate to receive treatment from the heart specialists at The University of Maryland Medical Center Hospital. During his journey with this illness, he was placed on a waiting list and through the race of God; he received a heart transplant within two months. The University of Maryland Medical Center staff, wife, son and other family members were essential in his recovery process. The family is truly grateful to the donor’s family for their gift to Michael. Mikie was a brave, courageous, and humble individual. In spite of his medical challenges, he never loss faith and always smiled. Michael’s presence on this earth, though short lived according to human belief, had a tremendous and positive impact on so many people. His physical presence will be sorely missed, but precious memories will be a source of comfort for years to come. Those who shared their joys of life with him and survive to cherish his memory are: his devoted wife, Ashley Edmondson; adored son, Deontae M. Edmondson; beloved parents, Michael E. Edmondson, Sr. and Sandra L. Edmondson, two siblings, Aaron Edmondson and Tiffany Edmondson- Johnson; grandfather, McKinley Dodd; grandmother, Erma Thompson; mother-in-law, Aelene Campbell; father-in-law, Anthony Campbell, Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Rolanda Edmondson and Danielle Campbell; two brothers-in-law, David Campbell and Anthony Campbell ,Jr.; three aunts and two uncles, Loretta (Albert) Goodman, Ralph (Evelyn) Thompson and Brenda Thompson; five nephews, Elijah, Ethan, Jalen, Spencer and Daniel; four nieces, Ashley, Ta’Shera, Jada and Donteris; a special cousin, Sister Josita Colbert, and a host of cousins, friends and co-workers.
