Michael D. Wilson

Michael Dante'e Wilson, son of Rosalind Schwind (Wilson) and Louis Smith, was born on January 23, 1973 in Baltimore, Maryland. After a forty day battle in Johns Hopkins Hospital, the waters subsided on the 41st day and he crossed over into eternity. He departed this life at 3:45PM on June 5, 2008 after a seven year illness."Mr. Wilson", as he was affectionately known, was educated int the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Baltimore City College High School in 1991. He was No. 2 in his division in wrestling and won numerous trophies and matches. Michael attended the University of Maryland at Eastern Shore, majoring in criminal Justice and worked many years in the Social Health field.Michael was baptized at a young age at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church. He rededicated his life on Easter Sunday 2005 and became a member of New Covenant Tabernacle, Michael was instrumental in the recording of New Covenant Tabernacle's Voices of Worship Team "Praise Him".Music was Michael's true passion. He wrote and recorded numerous raps and hosted the Monday Night Events, "Hip Hop 101" at the 5 Seasons Club in Baltimore. He was also an entrepreneur - opening a clothing store, restaurant, and a music store.Michael was a leader. He mentored many; young and old. He loved life and lived each day to the fullest even during times of sickness. He was very giving of himself and was loved by family and friends. His jovial and contagious laugh will continue to resound in our memory forever. He will be greatly missed.Out of all of Michael's accomplishments his greatest was his relationship with Jesus Christ. Through his suffering he gained a Kingdom perspective on life. His final words to his mother were that he wouldn't trade this experience for anything in the world because it brought him closer to Christ and he learned to value life.He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Tar; daughter Mikael; stepdaughter Tarshae; stepson Macy; god-son Jordan Whitehead, devoted mother, Rosalind Schwind; dedicated stepfather and Pastor, Thomas R. Schwind; a loving father and stepmother, Louis and Dorothy Smith; brother Antoine Smith, sister, Danita Smith; grandmother, a sister-cousin, Rhonda Whitehead, Dorothy Davis, godmother, Sharon Brown, one great aunt Carolyn Melvin and two aunts Earleen Smith and Arleen Smith, eight uncles, William "Sonny" Smoot, Norman "Butchie" Wilson; Morris Gary, Tony Smith, Steven Smith, David Boyd, Jerome Cosby, and Melvin Davis, mother-in-law, Sunday Powell, father-in-law, Johnny Powell, sister-in-law, Tonya Miller, and Toni Powell, one brother-in-law, Rashun Thompson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
