McArthur Lee Fields

MACARTHUR LEE FIELDS, son of the late Fannie Mae Fields, began his journey on February 19, 1943 and was called home to be with the lord on September 4, 2012 Mac was raised in Ken bridge, Virginia by Thomas and Ida Irby. He attended Ken bridge Virginia public schools and graduating from high school he journeyed to Baltimore, Maryland where he worked as a supervisor at Coca Cola. during his spare time he volunteered as at substitute teacher at St. James and John Catholic School. He later became a driver for the Omni Eye Service and worked part-time at March Funeral Home. In 1968, Mac met Jennie Williams at Jerusalem Baptist Church, where he often said “her beautiful voice captured me.” They were married on July 1, 1972 at his sister and brother-in-law's house and he made a vow that he would love her until the end of time. They were blessed with three daughters of whom he found adorable. Although each of his girls had different personalities, they shared his kind and loving spirit as well as a common bond of love and respect for him. He was saved at a very early age. In the late 60s, Mac was ordained to the Deacon's Ministry at Jerusalem Baptist Church and also initiated the involvement of Jerusalem's Deacon's with the Baptist Deacons Conference of Baltimore Vicinity. He was a devoted and faithful man of God . His favorite scripture to quote was “Isaiah 40;31 and his favorite song was”This Old Building,” Deacon Fields was a very devoted to people in his community and church family. He extended his time and services to anyone who was in need. He was a time very loving, generous and spontaneous family man. Sometimes he would make random calls to his girls and tell them to be ready at certain time for family excursion. The girls were dressed in work attire not knowing that the trip was to an amusement park. His hobbies included, bowling and playing softball. He enjoyed practical jokes and listening to all types of music. He loved animals and at one time , he had to obtain a kennel license for many stray cats and dogs he tried to keep. He leaves to cherish in his memory; his devoted wife of forty years, Jannie Fields; three daughters, Barbara (Leonard), Patricia and Teresa (Nathaniel);six grandchildren, Tiffany, Calvin, Arreal, Shanee, Michael and Dyneshia; (one granddaughter, Ternae who preceded him in death); six great-grandchildren, Taylor, DaNeira, NaKiya, Dwayne Jr., Tori and Jaiden; one brother, George; four sisters Sarah, Mae, Mary and Barbara (one sister Ruth who preceded him in death) six sisters-in-laws, four brothers-in-law three brothers, Phillip, Sterling and Will; one adopted son, Davol; one adopted granddaughter, Courtney; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,nephews, in-laws, godchildren and friends.
