McArthur Blowe

McArthur "Little Boy" Blowe, son of the late Ms. Janie Blowe and Mr. Aro Parker was born on March 14, 1943 in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. While growing up in Newsoms, Virginia, he began his education at South Hampton Training School and later completed his education in Baltimore, Maryland; where he commenced life at his own beat. McArthur had a successful career as an Insurance Agent with Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company, serving the Baltimore Metropolitan area. For over 10 years, McArthur was a member of the top 100 Million Dollar Associates and Top Producer club for Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company, earning several awards. While working as an insurance agent he met Ms. Gloria Whitehead; they wed on October 25, 1975, and from this union Angela and Jason Blowe were born. Upon retiring from Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company, McArthur formed MAJB Enterprises Inc., a landscaping business because of his ageless love for the outdoors. Working closely with Jason and his nephews, he serviced numerous customers within the Baltimore Metropolitan area. I McArthur accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in the early 1970s, after joining St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was a faithful and active member for over thirty-five years. In those years, McArthur became a member of the Society of the Holy Name; he was President of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and served one term as Parish Council President. Combining his love for landscaping and the church, McArthur would provide transportation for members, organize snow removal clean-up for the church, and he assisted inmates at the former Dimas House East Pre-Release Center. McArthur always lent a helping hand where ever he was needed with the church and the community. McArthur spent his leisure time playing cards, playing flag football, and enjoying his love for •sports cars with Jason, his son. McArthur was a patriarch and faithful man to his family. McArthur enjoyed attending family reunions and gathering which he deeply enjoyed. McArthur leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved daughters Angela Cassandra Blowe and Vevelyn Joquetta Blowe; one son, Jason Lemar Blowe; two grandchildren, Tyeshia and Zya; three sisters, Mary L. Taylor of Newport News, Virginia; Shirley Jones and Martha P. Foster both of Port Mouth, Virginia; three brothers, Lincoln Blowe of Philadelphia; Leroy Blowe of New Jersey and Aro Parker Jr., of Port Mouth, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
