Mary Little

On Thursday, October 23, 2014, our Heavenly Father sent an Angel and took our beloved Mary Catherine Little to her heavenly home. She was born Mary Catherine (Banks) Johnson on August 1, 1945, in Baltimore Maryland to the late Harry W. Johnson and the late Dorothy (Janie) Banks. Mary's brothers Harry (Junie) Johnson Jr., Warren Johnson and sister Dorothera Lomax preceded her in death. Mary grew up in a Christian home and was affectionately loved by all of her family and friends. She was a faithful member of New Light Church and loved her church family. She was known for remembering family members by sending Christmas and Birthday cards every year with a monetary gift of $5.00. If you have a spouse, you were expected to share your gift with him or her. Mary was educated in the Baltimore City School system where she attended Carver Vocational Tech. for food service. Later she met and married Albert R. Little Sr. and they were joined together in Holy matrimony on March 3, 1962. From this union five (5) children were born: Albert R. Little Jr., Darcel E. Little, Marcel W. Little, Mary C. Broadway and Curtland E. Little. Mary loved and cherished her family especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the apple of her eye. Mary was employed by Union Memorial Hospital then she worked 30 years as a dietary technician at the Hamilton Nursing Center. Her life's work of service to others formed and shaped her into the woman we came to love, respect and appreciate. She met and fell in love with her friend and devoted companion John McMannus with whom she spent the remainder of her days. Mary is remembered as soft spoken and possessed great strength and courage as she faced a variety of health issues. She was known for her spaghetti and meat sauce and loved to eat tootsie rolls. Her beautiful smile was infectious along with her hearty laughter that could win your heart. She had a warm heart for those who knew her and she loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart. Mary leaves loving memories to cherish with her wonderful children Albert (Lois), Darcel (Lucy) Marcel (Sandra), Mary (Curtis) and Curt. Mary leaves (5) grandchildren, Altavia Little, Caprice Grey, Kayla Little, Romel Little and Brittany Little (3) great grandchildren, Christain Allmond, Camryn Allmond and Camille Allmond, (2) two sisters Rosetta Marks, Patricia (Patty) Johnson and (1) brother Dennis Johnson, (2) two sister in laws Barbara Johnson and Patricia (Pat) Johnson. (3) aunts Mildred Banks Margie Banks, Phyllis Banks, Helen Broadley and (1) uncle Charles Dorsey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
