Mary Lee Stancil

Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forever more.Psalm 113:2Mary Lee Stancil, daughter of Etta Brown and the late Ezekiel Brown, Sr., was born in Darlington, S.C., on April 7, 1938 and was called home to rest on Saturday, October 13, 2001. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. After high school, she was employed at Maryland General Hospital for 9 years. She worked for Maryland Hospital Laundry for 23 years leaving on disability. She met and later married her childhood sweetheart Roosevelt (her Rosie) Stancil on December 25, 1956 and from this union they were blessed with two children Keith and Tanya. Mary Lee was beautiful person. Always ready to help or give meaningful advice. She loved to cook and have family gatherings and enjoyed playing jokes on her sisters and brothers. Everyone who knew her loved her. Her giving and loving spirit will truly be missed. She joined Fountain Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age. She later united with New Shiloh and in 1997 she united with Zion Baptist Church and was faithful in her attendance as much as her illness allowed. Her favorite scripture was the 121 psalms. She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Etta Brown; a devoted and loving husband Roosevelt; one son, Keith; one daughter, Tanya; three step-daughters, Vanessa, Wandra and Alexis; one stepson, Louis; six grand-children, Tarsha, Keyona, Aylica, Ryan, Latoya and Tynnetta; one great-grandson, Tomarcus D. Swift (T.J), ten step-grandchildren, nineteen step-great-grandchildren, three brothers, Ezekiel Jr., Charles and McKever Brown, three sisters, Vermel McClain, Helen Minter and Anne Brown, two brother-in-laws, Thomas McClain and Robert Brown; four sister-in-laws, Patricia Brown, Betty Brown of Baltimore, Md, Wincie Mae Stancil of N.C. and Marjorie Stancil of Buffalo, N.Y., eight aunts, two uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, several cousins and other relatives and friends.
