Mary B. Henderson Epps

On the morning of May 24,2010 at 12:57 am, Mother Mary Eppes answered the Master's call and quietly departed this life at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond,VA. Mother Eppes was born in Wedge,South Carolina on May 17,1940. She was the daughter of the late Reverend Jimmie E. Bradley and Josephine Gayle Bradley. Mother moved to Richmond in 1950. She received her public education from Kingsland Elementary and Carver High School. She was employed as a Private Duty Nurse for over twenty years. At a young age,she met and married James D. Henderson. Together they had six children. After the death of her husband she trusted in God and moved forward with strength and determination. In December of 1999 she married Deacon Robert Eppes and God blessed them with ten beautiful years together until his death five months ago. At an early age,she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined St. James United Holy Church where she served for more than thirty years. She later moved to Fredericksburg where she joined Tower of Deliverance Church and served faithfully for over ten years. After relocating to Crewe she joined Deliverance Through Jesus Christ under the leadership of Pastor Leanora King. Mothe Eppes served God faithfully wherever Gpd planted her. She was always a willing worker for the Lord. She believed that if she could help somebody then her living was not in vain. She has served in various capacities in ministry such as:Church Mother,Pastor's Aide Department,President of Sunday School,Vacation Bible School Teacher,Missionary Department,Intercessory Prayer Warrior,Outreach Ministry,Pastoral Evangelist and District Missionary. She believed in the power of prayer. She would tell everybody"baby if you pray god will give you the answer". She would take the time to pray for you any where,any place and any time. God gave her a prayer ministry. Thousands have been blessed by her ministry. If your phone rang between 3 and 5 in the morning you could almost guarantee that you were on Mother's mind and she would bless you with prayer. Mother was dedicated and faithful. Her assignment here is over and we must continue to work while it is day. She leaves behind to cherish her memory seven sons:Jeffrey,Sr.(Gloria),Jerome(Sharon),Joseph,Sr.(Doris),Michael and William Henderson,Jeffrey(Eugenia) and Larry Eppes;a daughter;Lucinda(Carlton)Sydnor;20 grandchildren,21 great grandchildren;eight sisters,two brothers,and a host of nieces,nephews,cousins and friends.
