Mary S. Bee

The Life and Legacy of Mary S. Bee (Keck) God sent on of his angels to 4317 Seidel Avenue to tell Mary that it is now time for peace and rest she has done her very best and it is time for her to receive her just reward. Mary affectionately was called “Biddy” as a child growing up. She was the first child born to the late Charles and Katie L. Keck in Raleigh, North Carolina, Her Siblings Charles Jr, Charlene and, Frances (Charles and Charlene preceded her in death). Mary received her formal education at Saint Monica Elementary School and Henderson High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mary received her RN Nursing Degree at Kate Bitting School of Nursing in Raleigh, North, Carolina. At the age of 19 years old, she moved to Baltimore, MD and was employed by Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1959 – 2001. She received the Baker King Award while employed at JHH for her dedication and service. She was promoted to a head nurse position in the omen’s clinic. Mary was friend to all the staff members. She was very supportive in all areas and was a friend to everyone she worked with. She always had an ear to hear and was full of advice and encouragement. She loved to cook and her favorite dish was macaroni and cheese. She traveled to several places for enjoyment. She shared her gifts and talents with her friends. When someone needed something, she never said “No”! You could always depend on her calling you if you were sick asking, “Do you need anything,” Her children were her life . She spent time with them and she taught them how to love others. Mary trusted in God for everything She never gave up hope and was full of faith. She never stopped praying asking God to give her strength. She asked Our Father to watch over her kids and direct them in the right path of life. Her living was not in vain. She prayed each and every day. She was distinguished a”Lady” and always had a red hair and she looked great all the time. During her here in Baltimore, she would visit various churches with family and friends. She leaves to carry on the memory and legacy: two sons, Jeffrey and Julius; daughter JeSanne; sister, Frances Carter; two grandchildren, Tyrese N. Bee and Troy D. White; two god daughters, Angela Forkiner in La Mesa, Arizona and Zelda Hadden in Raleigh, North Carolina; and host of other relatives, friends and coworkers. “Only What You Do For Christ Will Last”
