Marvin A. Rose

Marvin A. Rose, son of the late Jim Goings and Helen Rose, was born on September 11, 1976 in Dillon, South Carolina. Marvin “Mark” as many called him, received his call from heaven on March 2, 2018. At an early age mark, along with his family, moved to Baltimore, Maryland , where he attended Baltimore City Public Schools. Mark worked various construction job as a laborer. He was a person that wore many hats in his family. Tiger as only his mother could call him, was her own personal Uber driver. He was the father figure to all his nieces and nephews whether it was taking the out for a day of fun or sitting in the emergency room when they were sick. He was always there when his sisters needed him the most, whether being their maintenance man or just hanging out. He was the glue that kept the family together, and his smile alone would light up a room. Marvin is preceded in death by his father Jim Goings, stepfather David Smith , grandfather Linton Rose, uncle Bobby Fletcher, sister Cynthia Baker, mother and father-in-law Marlene Perry and Otis Hughes Sr., two aunts Mary Joyce and Ella Lee Rose, two nephews Jamal and Jaheem Jones, his great-grandmother Helen Ratley and best Purnell Powell. He leaves to cherish his memory: devoted Mother Helen Rose, wife Yvonne Hughes, two sons, Devonate Hughes & Bailey Blu Rose two step children Chance Little and Shakera Harris, grandson Tarrell Logan, grandmother, Ella Mae Rose of Dillon, South Carolina, four sisters Onaka & Tanaka Rose of Balto, MD Mary & Eva Carmichael of Winston-salem A special niece Shiquita Scott, nephew peyton scott, four aunts Rosa lee, Bessie Mae, Patricia and Angela Rose of all of Dillon, South Carolina four uncles Willie, Frank (Gwen) Torando Rose all of Balto City and Edward (Lashwanda) Rose of Dillon, S.C. Great uncle Oliver Ratley of Dillon, S.C. Two goddaughters Lataya Rose' Singletary of Dillon S.C. And Raymir Powell of Baltimore , MD eleven brothers Joe, Kenny, Charles, Michael, Marvin, Clifton, Kenny, Randy Earl Michael David all of Dillon, S.C. Joe & Wilbert Carmichael of Winston-Salem two brother-in-laws Otis III & Otis IV of Balto and six sister-in-laws Letitia (Fitz), Tabitha, April Tracey, Elaine and Kaylena host of special friends Jovon Williamson, Myron Mathews Jermaine Hood, Tyrell Dodd James Gary, Kevin Chambers Bakari Coleman, Reco Brown and a host of friends mentor and father figure John Cobbs (Pops), and godmother Eden Curry.
