Marvin L. McNair

Elder Marvin Lee McNair was born on November 3, 1967 in Baltimore, Maryland to his parents, Charlene T. McNair and Marvin Cooper. He was the first of six children born in the family. He had three brothers, Antonio, Kelton, Donte and two sisters, Charlene "Nikki" and Shanika. He received his formal education in Baltimore, where he attended Northern Senior High School. Marvin united in holy matrimony to the former Arlette Bernadette Smith on May 14, 1994, in Baltimore, MD, to his union, India, Jasmine and Joshua were born. He was also the proud father of Lakeda, Marvin, Jr., Marcus, Bra'shai, and Kiana. The family shared many happy and precious moments together. He was later blessed with seven grandchildren, who were an additional source of joy and pride in his life. By profession, Marvin was employed by a Steel Manufacturing Company. He was hard-working, dedicated and performed his duties with a spirit of excellence. A man of faith and belief n the Lord, Marvin accepted the Lord as his personal savior at a very early age. He was first baptized at Church of the Redeemed n Baltimore, MD, under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Jerome Stokes. Having accepted his calling into the ministry. Marvin was first ordained by Bishop Stokes and once relocating to Denver, CO, he was ordained by Supt. Lamar Kennedy at the Unity Church of God In Christ. He truly believed in the power of prayer and would often tell others about having the right relationship with the Lord. He loved reading the Bible and was happy with the knowledge he was gaining as he studied God's word in spirit and in truth. Marvin worked diligently in the Prison Ministry. He fed the hungry and was a founder of the Fisher of Men Ministry. Elder McNair was a fun-loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed reading the Bible and discussing scriptures with his family. He enjoyed going to his son's basketball games and eating his favorite butter scotch krimpets. He was truly a family man who always valued the special moments shared with his family. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know Elder McNair was to love him. He is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Cooper; a brother; Kelton McNair; a sister, Shanika Turner; two grandmothers, Catherine Scott and Laura Dean. Elder Marvin Lee McNair, Sr. departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on July 17, 2015, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his loving and devoted wife Arlette B. McNair of Denver, CO; 3 sons, Marvin L. McNair, Jr., Marcus McNair both of Baltimore, MD, and Joshua L. McNair of Denver, CO; 5 daughters, India P. (Phillip) Robinson, Jasmine T. (Derell) McNair-McClorin, Lakeda S. McNair, Bre'shai McNair and Kiana McNair all of Baltimore, MD; his mother, Charlene T. (David) Byrd of Baltimore, MD; 2 brothers, Antonio Vaughn of St Petersburg, Florida and Donte (Monique) Byrd; 1 sister, Charlene N. (John) Thomas all of Baltimore, MD; 7 grandchildren; his devoted special aunt, Katherine Reed of Denver, CO; his mother and father in law. Yvonne and Arthur Smith of Baltimore, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, other aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and many friends.
